True but not so common on japanese cars, especially toyo. Not even the new tundra sports one. The colorado imo is not a bad looking truck, just the front end reminds me too much of a camero.

    No mud flaps either.

I'm a fan of amber rear turn signals, this one looks to be all red.

A bit chunky on the front end.

I like the new tailgate and more symmetrical wheel arches.

I didn't like the Colorado and I'm not crazy about the '16 Taco, but I know it will grow on me and if you like the '16 Taco too... You can't dislike the Colorado.

I think we have to wait till Monday to know for sure, this still looks like a photoshop mock up to me the size of the front doesn't match the body and the paint on the front and rear are not the same as the cab..... I hope the final version looks better or the trail version has a different front end..... but if the motor is not drastically upgraded I'll be keeping my 10 and ordering more parts next week....

It's Eh or okay, doesn't make me regret buying my '15. It seems to have a good number of feature upgrades, like a lockable tail gate, and projector head lights, all of which in my opinion should have been available in the '12-15 refresh, but hey this is Toyota after all. Thankfully there are a few after market parts that you can get to remedy this issue.

I believe the motortrend.com pictures are of the limited trim given all the chrome and side badging. I'm hoping the TRD Off Road has a different lower bumper, if not I don't see how one could mount a front skid plate over the bulky bulge.

Toyota will announce drive train details on Monday, but I'm predicting they will just drop the Tundra's 6 speed auto, and a slightly modified version of the 4Runner's 4.0 1GR-FE pushing 270 to 285 hp. I rather have the 4.0 than the Sienna's 3.5, which motortrend and a few other magazines are predicting.

Unless they offer a small 4 cylinder diesel engine available with a manual and 4x4, I'm not interested in a Gen 3.

This is not a gen three! If it shares ANY PART with the gen two ...it is not a gen three.

I still don't like the bulky grille and lines where the bumper and fender meet. And the photo of the tacoma and the Colorado side to side make me more upset about because it just looks like they copied gm.

IMO, if the Offroad package isn't great, and if they didn't fix the inevitable frame issue, why bother. I mean they've had YEARS to fix the frame issue and I was unaware it was still a problem on the newer models until last week. So my 14 has a shit frame too and so do 15's.

That's bonkers. Why do that to your customers

Only thing I don't like is the mitsubishi raider tail light, everything else looks pretty damn good.

As far as styling, I personnally think Toyota could have done much better. It looks to me like they styled it after the Tundra; not pretty. I actually thought it was a Ford at first glance.

That being said, I am happy to see, or hear, that Toyota is finally updating the 'ol Taco. I really wished for a six speed trans when I bought mine. I understand the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality and always liked how little the Tacoma has changed over the years, but Tacoma definately needs to get with the times if it's going to stay afloat with GMs new midsize trucks.

It still has better ground clearance and angles despite that stupid air dam. The Colorado has worse approach/break over/departure angles than any popular truck in the class from what I read.

Very glad I have a 2014, not sure I like the front end at all....

Looks like a mashup between the tundra and 4runner. Wish they would have gone with the 2012 4Runner front end.

I dunno... My immediate reaction was "....huh...mmm....."

It's not what I was hoping for. I'm looking fwd to seeing the other trim packages, maybe the TRD will be a bit more aggressive looking. I feel like this re-design is still in the "ugly duckling" phase and maybe it will be refined over the span of the 3rd gen lifetime, simmilar to the 2nd gens.

I see a lot Ford styling lines on the front of the 2016...

I see Fusion/Taurus headlights and grille:

A few other guys pointed out that the ass-end looks like Mitsubishi Raider, I have to agree:
