Hahaha yeah this is barely camping. Really not sure If we're even allowed to call it that at this point. I just took a long hot shower after sleeping better than I have at home in months and now I'm lying on a memory foam mattress typing this while everyone else in camp sweats in the Sun.

If you click on my build thread I posted some pictures of the setup. I know with a bestop your pivot is on top instead of the inside of the bed. I either store the top under the RTT (if I have room) or on the side of the bed.

This is how I stored it on the trip since the bed was full of storage bins

Looks like most of the MPPT controllers are higher in price. You think the difference is definitely worth it though?

Did you like having the annex on when it was that cold? And would you trust your truck battery enough to run the electric blanket straight off that for a night?

Without a doubt the MPPT controllers are worth it. The MPPT controller will harvest more power from the solar array but being just a 100w system your looking at you might not see the full benefits of MPPT. If it were me I still would do the MPPT controller just to get the most out of my panels. And have the option to grow the system later down the road.

Do all these weight about the same? I was seeing 130ish pounds on the few I have looked at. Does anyone make a light weight version? I don't want to put a ton of weight up high. If anything this *might* make me finish my M100 trailer and put it on it.

How many people do you want to fit in the tent? If its just you they start out around 95ish pounds. If you want one to fit you and someone else they will be about 130lbs, but remember that is the shipping weight (at least on Tepui's website) so take off about 15lbs from that.

Make sure the sleeping width is at least 56 inches wide then. Some tents say 1-2 person but those are going to be really tight, the 2-3 person will be better for you.

Annex was nice to have a enclosed space to move around and take care of some stuff with the heater on. I never had a electric blanket, although next time I think that's on the list

    I have the Eezi-Awn 'Series 3 & I think its the 1800 - It's a genuine King size bed when open. sleeps a cozy family of 4.
I have it mounted to the top of my Snug Top shell with 4 Yakima cross bars & a4x custom bolt on brackets i made... this is my 2nd truck with this setup & it has always held up without a flaw. I have had 400LBS up there sleeping & no concerns.
This is my 2nd 'cover' though as exposure to sun can chew through these things every few years.

Did some winter camping in west vergina last weekend. It got down to the low 20's, the wife and I stayed fairly warm for the night. I just wish I could figure out a way to keep the condensation from forming on the inside of the roof above our heads.

I had the same problem. Best thing I've been told is to open the side windows a bit to get some air circulation.

Yep. You have to get some air circulation. I unzip both side windows and fold them down an inch or so.
