I have no idea whether I'm doing this correctly or not; this is my first forum post ever. Please excuse me if I am in errors. I purchased my Tacoma a month ago and I think it is my best vehicle ever. I had a 2010 with an access cab and it was too small a space for my dog so I was interested in getting one with a double cab. I wasn't really in the market for a new one because my old one only had 39,000 miles on it. I was getting an oil change at my local dealer, looking for a way to spend the time, waiting. I asked the salesman about a used 2012 double cab they had for sale, and before you know it I was running the numbers on a new 2015 with every thing on it I could possibly want. To my surprise, my payments are lower and I'm driving a new truck which feels like a luxury car on the inside with enough power to haul a half ton of wood pellets like there is nothing in the bed. Coming from a 4 cylinder that had a tough time going up mountains without shifting into third to this is amazing. I'm not happy with the fuel efficiency but hopefully the prices will stay low for awhile. I am glad I bought this year's model because I like the looks of it better than what is in store for 2016. I also don't need a more powerful engine or newer transmission than this one; my passing gear is awesome and I love being able to shift to all the lower gears manually when needed. The only things I am missing are a temperature gauge for outside temperature, a front window defroster with wires in the windshield, and clear directions for when and how I use all the buttons on the dash. I might have to buy a remote starter in the near future if this winter gets any worse.

Why surprised? It was financed a lot longer, so in the end you wind up paying a lot more.

Doesn't anyone teach basic economics anymore?

Glad you like the truck. It would be terrible to not enjoy something you write a check for every month.
