Mine were decent starting out. Compound ended up getting very HARD over time. They got louder and louder and I don't think mine ever really ballanced out. I used to have a fairly shaky steering wheel. I just got some Nitto Terragrapplers G2s and I really like them thus far. Haven't been offroad yet though.

Wait...let me get this straight. You're griping about what tires a concept vehicle has?

I went to a new car show here in Virginia Beach today. Got to see, touch, and sit in the new Colorado and Canyon. Colorado was an LT double cab model, 2WD. Canyon was also 2WD double cab. For "new remodeled vehicles", I was not impressed. Honestly, interior quality and appearance were no where near as good as my '13 Tacoma. And just as a background, I owned nothing but Chevy from 1985 until 2013. My Tacoma is my first Toyota, so I'm no "fan boy". In my opinion, the Colorado and Canyon were disappointing. If Toyota updated the Tacoma interior on the '16, and updated some of the tech and mechanical, they will continue to easily blow GM out of the water in the mid size truck market.

I was really disappointed with the back seat in the crew cab Colorado. It was like sitting on a park bench and had no storage behind the seat back.

Honestly, I didn't sit in the back, but I did look around the cab and can see what you're saying. Maybe the LTZ trim inside is nicer, but my first impression when sitting in the driver seat was everything just looked cheap. And plain. No different textures or colors. Even the exterior look did nothing for me. I'm sure they'll sell some to the GM fans, that's OK, to each their own, but in a heads up comparison, I still think the Tacoma is better. We'll see what Toyota brings to the table in the '16.

A bit off subject for a Tacoma forum, but being totally objective, the two nicest cars there, reasonably priced, in the full size and mid size category were the Chevy Impala and Chevy Malibu. For 40,000 and 35,000 respectively, they had the most bang for the buck and nicest interiors. And I looked at everything that would not be considered a "high end luxury" brand. Just my two cents.

In my opinion, yes. I personally like the interior on my Tacoma better.

I second that. Can't wait to see how many cracked silverado dashes I get to see in SWFla in the next couple years.

Agreed, cheap it is not compared to the Tacoma, quite the opposite. Just read one review and they make the Tacoma dash comparison to a 90's camry.

Like is one thing but to call it "cheap" and poor "quality" compared to a Tacoma is just a lie. See above...

 Completely different dash and materials. Using your logic I guess we can't wait to see how many frames rust or when the weak rear springs start to show on the new 2016 model then huh?

Tyler, have you even looked and compared the GM twins and Tacoma's in person? Or are you basing your opinion on what you have read? Do you own any of these vehicles? I don't appreciate being called a liar. I gave my opinion. Just like people who write articles reviewing cars and trucks give their opinion. I read the articles also. Motor Trend named the Colorado their "truck of the year" before they even had one to test drive and evaluate. They based their opinion on GM spec sheets and photos. So read all the reviews and articles you want, but until you physically see and compare the vehicles yourself, you really can't form a legitimate opinion. If you don't agree with me, that's fine. But when I give my opinion based on what I see with my own two eyes, I'm not lying. Have a nice day.

Yes and driven both, so I can form a legitimate opinion. I shopped the Tacoma recently (my cousin bought a 2014) but the interior was poor as were the ride, handling and other aspects I deemed important. I knew other competitors were coming out with new trucks (GM and Nissan) and was hoping Toyota would redo the Tacoma (they have) and I wanted a truck from this decade if I am going to buy brand new.

The second bold point is exactly why your information is incorrect. Taken from Motortrend's test:

"We began just outside of Los Angeles, where all 10 trucks were loaded up with an average payload's worth of 100-pound rubber horse-stall mats, allowing us to safely weigh down each rig and test how they performed on the road as well as at the pump. The Colorado and Canyon took on five mats each (for a total of 500 pounds), the F-150 and Transit cargo van each got 10 mats per (1,000 pounds), and the heavy-duty trucks received 20 mats each (2,000 pounds)."

You obviously didn't read Motortrend's article. To actually think they do something that large and significant without even testing the vehicle is laughable at best. I guess this is just CGI then at the weigh station with all the other TOTY competitors?

    http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/truck/1502_2015_truck_of_the_year_contenders/photo_09.html

That is great to have an opinion, but sometimes opinions are just so far out of realm you wonder what is actually driving that opinion. In this case I would compare it to someone saying the Tennessee Titans are the best football team in the NFL this year. I just call them like I see them without my "goggles" on...

Actually, I did read that article. I believe we were initially talking about interiors when you called me a liar. No goggles on here. I owned nothing but Chevy's from 1985 until 2013. And Motor Trend initially declared the Colorado their Truck of the Year before they did that test. Before they did any test actually.

But, you've made up your mind and you are entitled to your opinion. My opinion, after seeing the GM twins in person, remains the same, I personally like the interior in my 2013 Tacoma more than the interiors I saw in the 2015 GM twins. My impression on looking at the Colorado and Canyon when sitting in them is that the interiors were cheap. Not what I would have expected from a new redesigned vehicle. I don't know if you read my earlier post here, but I praised the interiors on the Impala and Malibu. Those were the two nicest cars, in my opinion, at the new car show I was at.

Regardless, with the debut and pending release of the 2016 Tacoma, it's likely Toyota will continue to dominate the mid size truck market.

    Have a good day.

Motortrends now always picks a truck that no one else is really looking forward to keeping around. The Dodge Ram 1/2 ton was truck of the year for what, 3 out of 5 years? How many 1/2 ton Rams does my company run in just our local fleet? Maybe 5-10 out of over 200 vehicles. Sure they're nice trucks, until you own them for about 3 months and the dealers shop becomes your new second home. Motortrends is about what's new and shiny. They could care less about testing a truck as a truck. There testing is to limited IMHO.

Too each his own. I find my Tacoma interior just fine. You're right, it's been around ten years since it was really updated, but it works and I find it sporty. The doors aren't rattling off after a few years and the plastics haven't scratched up. That's all you can ask for in a modern truck. This is my first Tacoma and I've been more impressed with this truck than anything I've had from Ford, GM, or Dodge. My wife is looking at a Colorado for spring. I'm really going to try to get her to hold off and see a new Tacoma. I have a feeling she will change her mind. Both of us were not awed with the new Colorado when we took it out.

I didn't want to wait until October to get into a redesigned Tacoma after selling my Tundra, so I just signed a 2 year lease on a loaded 2015 GMC Canyon SLT. I pick it up on Monday, and I'll give an honest opinion of it in the coming weeks. From the test drive, I can say that it feels almost like a full size truck, and the V6 pulls like a V8. The interior was very nice compared to my '13 Tacoma. I'm a devoted Toyota guy, not a GM fanboy, so hopefully my reviews will be taken with that in mind.

And include how you like the size. Of all of them I have seen look pretty much full sized.

Absolutely! I plan to do a pretty extensive long-term review of it. I'm planning to go back to a Taco after the lease is up unless its just THAT much better than the 2016.

I've seen a few of the new GMs running around locally and parked next to several. It looks very much like a midsize truck to my eyes, the proportions don't compare to a full size IMO. Good looking trucks.
