What is the best radio and speakers?

I got my tacoma about 2 months ago for my first truck and I have noticed that they don't have very good speakers and radios. I already have a sub in it..
WHAT IS THE BEST RADIO AND SPEAKERS I CAN PUT IN IT??

 

crutchfield.com , read their reviews. How did you manage a sub in the truck with the stock radio?

 

1. Hearing is subjective. So what I perceive as great sounding speakers you might think sound "meh."

I just put a system in my 97 ext cab and I'm very happy with it.

It's an awesome unit! One of the features I really like is the DAC (digital analog converter) which essentially up converts the audio files you are using making them sound a lot better.

Fosgate punch 2 channel amp, 10" polk sub in the back seat and a 4 channel clarion running my speakers.

For a low cost, mid level system I think it sounds GREAT and it really pounds clean bass.

 

Sonic Electronix. They're cheaper than Crutchfield and you get the wire harness and dash kit included for free.

 

Thanks Ed - That's Rocco, all black, right at 100lbs, he's 5 now, I used to have another, we had to put him to sleep last year at 11 years old. I'm guessing you have some Shepherds as well?

 

I have two - both Females. One is the direct descendant (Grand Daughter) of THE World Champion!

I also do volunteer work for about 6 different local law enforcement K9 units. One of my favorite K9s bit right through my fingernail when I was playing with him!

My order from Sonic Electronix when I did mine. I ran the door/cabin mounted Polk speakers for 3 years, then they needed replacement. Put the same thing back in there, because they sounded really good.

Sonic killed Crutchfield on almost all prices, including shipping.

 

Really easy you can get a low level converter to convert speaker frequencies to RCA signals .

 

great prices, but be careful. At one time, they were not "official" dealers of many stereo brands so the manufacturers would not honor warranty. This may have changed, but you may want to check it out first.

+1 Crutchfield, or you can get the local hi-end stereo shop ask to get close to the online pricing - this is what I did and very happy with how things went

 

Anybody try the Kickers at Walmart yet? I've been curious as to how the quality fared.

 

I didn't, I was just implying that it has a bad radio, but I got a different one like the first week I got it.. Lol

 

For 2... Like 50-100 or something.

 

$50-$100 will get you an ok deck but not much else.

 

Buy used at that budget.

 

You're looking to spend $50-100 on a head unit and pair (or 4?) speakers?

You might as well keep it stock and save your money.

Just my opinion.
