2016 Tacoma social media leak

I had a 1998 4WD Reg Cab. Loud cabin. A/C a $700 option. The RADIO was an option. Rear slider an option. 16" wheels an option. After driving for 10 hours in that loud cab I was deafened to a lot of subtle sounds. The 2nd Gen got better in that regard, hopefully the Gen3 steps it up.

 

^I recall Toyota was suffering from a strong yen at the time. The Tercel even had the clock as an option.

Agreed. I can't tell you how often I am "gear hunting" in the truck while going just up mild grades alone. Its pretty pathetic.

You really want a potato, get up to freeway speed, gas it enough so it drops a gear, then let off then gas again and your potato transmission will lose its shit and just potato away. Clunk CLUNK clunk, I hate you.

 

Oh I know when its unlocking. I can feel it for sure but it still nevertheless forces me to shift into 4th while driving up said grades because 5th gear is just too sluggish and this e-transmission with smart tech bla bla bla is too stupid to calculate at what grades it should downshift when going up hills. Its smart enough to know to shift down when going down grades though, so that outweighs its uphill stupidity right? Lol.

The 2015 model lost the dedicated clock. Someone at Toyota figured the clock in the radio is enough.

 

I do too, but my point is that you shouldnt have to do it.

I don't think my radio has a built in clock on my 12. Its separate right below the radio.

Thats what I do as well. That's why I would take a 4 gear transmission over a 5 any day.

 

Column shifter for the auto would work for me, push button on the stalk to disable OD and have the floor area on the hump for handy little items. Like the Gen1 Tundra. Hallelujah.

To some people, yes. 'They sure don't make trucks like they used to!' Back in my day, you had to crank the front of the truck to get it started!!

It's actually pretty nice to have. The space on the hump is used for handy items. If Toy had sense enough they'd offer a bench front seat option and a column shifter so your chick could snuggle up to you on the front seat.
