Not whining - in a previous post I said I don't think it's good or bad - what I'm saying is that the photos I'm seeing just don't look like a new generation truck. But, like you said I'll wait and see just like everyone else. It will be interesting to see what the press has to say about it - something beyond the PR and marketing happy talk.

And I tried the Chevy product once, won't go back to that. I never said I don't like the 2016 truck, did I?

A next generation vehicle doesn't have to look like a completely different vehicle to be a new generation. It's simply the next variant of that particular model.

Exactly I don't know why everyone has their panties in a bunch. Already making claims to the brakes, suspension, interior, etc.... before the actually product comes out with actually specs.

That's what I mean. 2 separate generations using some of the same things and slightly changing other things. Doesn't have to be completely different to be a new generation.

Some people will never be happy. Lose the clock in the truck; people compalin. Put the clock in the radio; people complain Never ending complaints. But some complaints are valid though: driveline vibes, weak tailgates, etc....

I'm curious as to what everyone's reaction would be if it was the exact same engine.

If its the same engine and transmission, Toyota just found a way to sucker a lot of people out of hard earned money, sorry but minus the pretty new looks and extras it would be the same damn truck. I hope they are smarter than that and do right by the tacoma fan base and at least try to keep GM way back in the midsize footsteps.

If it is the exact same with same mpg, then I'm sure there will be mass hysteria in this forum.

Lol I might take a few days off of TW. I would be so upset that my Tacoma is... as good as it gets.

LOL....many cyber crystal balls, tarot cards and palm readers out there.

Let's just give them the cold hard facts:

There will be mirror defrosters, heated seats, mechanical locker on 4WD's; along with electronically retractable mud flaps (front and rear), a strengthened tailgate with hydraulic hinges, hydraulic hood hinges (kiss the hood support rod good-bye) and engine options such as a 2.7 4cyl, a 4.6 Direct Injection V6 putting out 321HP and 360ft/lbs. of torque and a twin turbo-supercharged 4.0 carryover engine from the last generation Tacoma which will output 366hp and 385ft/lbs. of torque!

Can't wait for the diesel. Buying and adding DEF is great. Standing out in the cold longer and adding antigel with each tank of fuel is great! Forgetting and burning out the electric fuel pump is even better! The truck not warming up and staying freezing on my 8 mile drive to work is great also! Oh forgot, like all the diesel proponents I would rather spend $3.55 a gallon than $1.94 a gallon. Great idea paying 80% more for a 25% improvement in fuel economy, not to mention the premium that would be charged for a diesel engine.

I don't get all the whining for a diesel. I had a Dodge Cummings for years. Pain in the butt, but I had to tow 12,000 pounds at the time.

If the Toyota could bump the 4x4 V-6 gas engine fuel mileage up to about 23 in city and 26 on the highway that would be perfect.
