Trading in my 2010 PreRunner on new 2015 with TRD package. Does anyone have recommendations or opinions on which would do a better job, Sport or Off-Road, of regularly carrying weight in the bed? Or are they pretty much going to be the same.
I will be adding a Jason Workforce Fiberglass Cap, and a bedslide with parts and tools just as I had with my PreRunner. It has done a great job for the last 5 years and 195k miles, but to carry the weight I did have to bag the rear early on to keep from sagging.

Both have shitty leaf springs , buy whichever one you want and then buy the Wheelers HD leaf pack

since october 2013 all 6 lug trucks have been given the 3+1 leaf pack in the rear.... so there is no difference in the rear suspension outside of shocks which do nothing for load handeling.

That stated even the 3+1 leaf pack is meh. I threw in a 2in single AAL and it handles loads much better now. but for constant load, you are probably gonna want a full wheelers hd leaf pack or some dakars.

    Thanks guys.
I kinda thought this was going to be the case, but really wasn't finding anything or anybody that was actually stating it.

Or leave the suspension as is and throw on a site of Ride Rite air bags.

I'd have to agree. Pick the one you like best, and spend a little extra changing out the rear pack if you regularly haul weight. You'll be happy that you did.

Ride-Rite Bags are what I've ran the last 5 years on my PreRunner with no issues doing the job for me. Kinda leaning that way with this new one now just because of that past experience, but was hoping by some slim chance I wouldn't need to do anything. Obvious by everyone's responses that I couldn't be that lucky.

I should clarify. You don't HAVE to do anything. But even the 3+1, although an improvement, aren't great for heavier or constant weight. You could get by doing nothing, but the cost isn't that great that you wouldn't want to do something.

Carry about 5-600 lbs in my tool boxes. Firestone bags, Wheelers hd 3 leaf AAL, Dystar bag cups (ohh sounds dirty), sits nice, little stiff back there at road speed.

I also carry alot of weight. Ran around the 1st year i had the truck with it riding on the bump stops. Then ordered an ironman lift with hd rear leafpack. Got done installing the lift and the rear was still saggin. So I installed airbags 2 years ago and have had no problems since.

I have a 1" block and aal in the back and a 2 1/2" spacer in the front.
I carry about 500 pounds of stuff in the back, tools, machine parts, etc.
It sits pretty level. I like it and I get a lot of compliments.
I should mention that even though I lifted my truck it will never see dirt. This is a freeway flyer and I just like to sit a little higher up, and I like the look.
    And so does everyone else.
Also I don't think my truck should float like a 75 caddie. I like the ride to be a little bit on the stiff side.

Thanks again for all the input, much appreciated.
The picture below is of my PreRunner's cap and slide when I bought it new. I had the TSB done back then that Toyota was offering for people that carried constant weight that added I believe the Bilstein shocks and a different spring, but it still sagged even before adding my tools and machine parts. That's why I added the Ride-Rite bags and as I said it's been fine since. Based on what everyone is saying, and since I plan on going back with the same set up as below, I think I'm going with the TRD Sport, because I like it's monochromatic look and just add the bags right from the get go.

Cool cap, how much weight can the side window bins hold?

Not sure what the sides are actually rated at, but I carry hardware in one side and power tools in the other and I'm guessing my stuff at 100-150lbs each side.

That's nice storage, and a good looking cap.

I rarely carry any weight in my 2013 and my leafs are already flat in 2 years of use. I'd highly recommend a new leaf pack right off the bat if you're regularly carrying 150+ lbs.
