    smoking meats is extremely difficult when it's cold ... We tried smoking moose jerky in a bradley smoker when it was in the teens and ended up finishing it off in oven ... Decided we're going back to dehydrator for jerky. :notsure: I'm not positive a new machine will make a diff in very cold temps.

    I vote the RV! Being closer to your kids age than yours presumably, going on trips in the RV with my grandparents was always a good adventure and it sure beat worrying about finding a hotel everynight

    get a insulator ;) easy to home make and they work like a charm. although you better be attentive to your first batch! we used thicker material than this, about 1/2 in thick actually, but it persists of some foam as well. ours covers all the smoker, lid and all.

    i have a monitor that the brightness button is broken and goes to 100% frequently if you want it :p

    Yup. Some jackass in a Dodge Ram almost rear ended me doing atleast 100 Kms/hr (60mph). Had to do my best matrix rav maneuver and he just cleared my rear bumper by a hair and slammed hard into the concrete barrier beside us. Made one helluva thump as he hit the concrete
