    I'm lucky, Leavenworth is only 2 hours east of me so we hit it 4-5 times a year. It is definitely worth a weekend trip to explore the whole area. If you go make sure you venture out to the Icicle Creek road which follows the creek 20 miles into the mountains. Lots of hiking trails and campgrounds, amazing scenery.
