NW WA Meet / BS Thread

When my Dad was a kid, he had a loaded gun underneath his drivers seat that fired while going over some bumps. Shot up through the seat cushion and through his thigh. Shit happens.

 

had a kid that was "checking out my 9" on a camping trip put a round into my left leg. I told him it was loaded but he didn't think it was. Since then I've never handed a weapon to another person with the capability to fire. All ammo is removed first. other that that highschool fuck up I've been gun safe and drive around with my sig strapped to my dash.

 

I had a buddy jump out of his truck while grabbing his 12 gauge and he kind of tripped and pulled the trigger. Luckily it had bird shot in it and it only grazed his lower leg. We were playing up in the mountains on some forest roads, I don't remember what he was in such a hurry to take a shot at.

 

I grew up shooting and even though my dad was great at enforcing gun safety, I didn't practice good trigger discipline. It took a lot of work on my part and taking multiple classes, to retrain myself. Even now I mentally tell myself to keep my finger out of the trigger gaurd every time I handle a weapon, specially my 1911 carry. It only take one time for a bad habit to resurface and change lives forever.

So this morning my dad and I went up FS road 18 outside of Darrington, if you look at it on bing maps you'll see a quary and we went just past that. Very promising and goes really far. IF it doesn't snow by next weekend then this is a very promising option. But hopefully it snows!

 

Seeing a lot of long travel down here in Mexico. Anyone want to take a trip down Baja with me sometime in the next couple years?

I hit a huge Seagull right smack dab on my front bumper at about 65mph this morning. Poor fella, he hit hard, brains were splattered all over my license plate.

I think a small 3ish" lift and nice tires, maybe some plate bumpers etc. I don't think it should be LT or anything crazy. I would think an expedition type rig would be way cooler looking than a mud truck.
