ABS issues on icy roads and tire size

Lots of people talking about the poll, that it's not giving enough options.

When asking 20 questions you get to ask 1 question at a time, a very effective way to narrow down the possibilities. I simply wanted to answer the question "Are people with larger than stock size tires experiencing more ABS issues"

Results: ABS issues seem to be happening regardless of tire size.

We will never really know what's causing this because their are too many variables at play. Speed, conditions, tire manufacturer etc. The only reason I really find this topic interesting is because I personally have not experienced the issue and I spend a fair amount of time in snowy and icy conditions.

... But here, let me turn up that volume a bit:

 

Below 5 mph abs Is deactivated. If it is activating at that speed then you have a fault and you need to see a dealer.

I swear if I read one more post that ABS should stop your vehicle on ice I'm going to destroy them.

 

How do you propose to destroy them? Lol

With ABS...

 

I ran the stock sized tires up until about a year ago and the ABS has sucked since the day I drove off the lot. My truck has had a number of different tires on it over the years looking for a solution. It sucked regardless if I was running the stock tires, the Revos, The Destination AT, A dedicated snow tire or anything else.

What's nice is the solution is simple enough to fix... Pull the fuse and go on with your life.

how exactly has it sucked? By causing your stopping distance to grow/not stop you on slippery surfaces but allowing you to maintain control?

Because that's exactly how it's supposed to work.
