Is anyone else having back problems with their 2005+ TRD seats?

I just bought the truck after I sold my King Ranch F-150 and after putting 2000 miles on the Tacoma my back is absolutely KILLING ME! Has anyone else had a similar issue or resolution?

I know there's another member on here who complains about the very bottom of the vertical part of the TRD seat digging into his back. Is this your problem? If so I'd recommend getting wet okole seat covers with the lower lumber support installed so your lower back isn't against the bar anymore. Other than that cram a pillow in that spot maybe, though to be honest I think that would be even more uncomfortable.

It's kind of had to compare the King Ranch seats, which have always been amazing, with the TRD seats in our Tacoma. It's kind of like comparing a La-Z-Boy with a futon from Wal*Mart.

Good point! There isn't really anything from the seat that protruding, it is just bare bones with no support. Definitely need to find a solution.

I recommend getting the wet okoles then with all the little comfort options. It'll cost you a pretty penny but odds are you won't be disappointed with the final product. Their quality is next to none.

Strange, I think the TRD seats are the best/most supportive seats I have ever had. Then again I have never had "luxury" seats before.

    Good luck

Your Ford spoiled you and turned you into a puss. [IMG]

    Kidding!

Get the Wet Okole seat covers, they have lots of better padding. I have them and they are excellent.

    http://www.wetokole.com/

Costco sells Coverkings which look the same but lack the padding and they are lots cheaper. Get the Wet Okole's, you won't regret it.

try turning that circular knob. i think that one is to help with back posture on the seat

Every time I let someone else drive my truck and they adjust the seat, it takes me about a week or so to get it put back right. Until I get it just right it kills my back. I don't know why, I've played with the lumbar support and different seat positions. But about a week or so later it's fine again. Maybe it's all in my mind? I have the SR5 seats.

To keep the ground clearance Tacoma has an usual seating position. Your legs are more out in front of you instead of being more kitchen chair like. In a lot of reviews I've read the reviewers comment on the odd seating position. It hurt my back when I first got my Tacoma..

I noticed I had a tendency to let my knees spread out as I drove which put my hips in a weird position. I didn't look for a fix I just try to sit more chair like and keep my knees closer together. On longer drives I regularly put my knees together and force my hips to stretch inward.

Just being aware of it solved my problems.

Play with all of the controls and also the steering wheel position. I have 4 buldged discs so am prone to back issues...like stated above, took about a week of messing with things to get it so it felt right. No complaints now.
