Hey Rich, did you get your maintenance guys trained?

 

Slowly. No one likes to work on it.
It's not dirty on my end but if it goes down, it usually has something to do with the mechanics in the pit, under the machine in the floor.

Ugh, day shift screwed the pooch HARD. Let me put it this way...running all my lab samples...most of them turned blue...and blue means bad, before i even throw it in the machine for results. Literally nothing I can do either...everything is still messed up from 12 hours ago when they realized they were dumping bad water into the tanks and finally diverted it all to the sewer. Luckily the people that care only work week days, so I can go home to sleep and day shift can answer the 20 calls about why the lab results are so skewed.

I accidently dumped the caustic tank here at work one day into the lines that lead to the treatment plant. (Muriatic sp acid). 3 guys showed up freaking out from the treatmant facility. We have our own on site. Said they had sirens and red lights going off everywhere.
It was like my 3rd day here at the plant.

 

Actually, I guess I was just adding water to get the ph right in the tanks, left the valve on.and went to lunch. Totally forgot about it. It just overflowed to the spilloff, the to the treatment plant.

 

Haha yea we have a pretreatment plant that sends us ...well...less shitty water lol, and then next to the boiler plant we've got a little water treatment plant I also run to make boiler water...so all the condensate from the whole refinery comes back to us, and since alot of units are shutting down, someone is dumping a boatload of silica in the condensate...and yesterday day shift didn't catch it until it'd been dumping into our demin tanks for like a good 6 hours...I came in and just shook my head lol.

 

Dumb question, if you change your own oil, does it void your warranty? I've heard both ways and want a solid answer.

 

Nope. Only thing that can void your warranty is if something you do to your truck under warranty, causes something covered under that warranty to fail, AND the dealership has to prove that whatever you did caused that part to fail.

Dealership tried to get out of changing a battery once claiming I must have added something that was draining the battery. Luckily at the time I was still fresh to TW and had only got some new shocks and tires, I argued and won since I had connected nothing to the battery, their shitty Toyota battery died after a year, and they replaced it.

Anyhoo, yea, change your oil to your hearts content. Do you really think the kids at Jiffy Lube can do a better job? I dont.

It's Friday, boys and girls, off in T-minus 7 1/2 hours or so, catch an hour or two of sleep and then me and a couple of guys are gonna go hit the canyon runs up by Lake Berryessa! Last time I tried to go, I was stuck in Napa for about 4 hours with a dead battery in a Dennys parking lot! Now I'm alot more prepared lol

 

Exactly 5 hrs and I get to start a much needed staycation. Actually looking forward to taking down the xmas decorations. Usually I don't get to them until the March thaw.

 

Haha! New house this year, we were still unpacking boxes and i veto'd Christmas lights this year.
