    I was stupid and went out last night with my roommate and my gf's sister. We did fine and were on our way back to where we're staying and the truck pulled to the right and got into the ditch a little, then as soon as the tires spun it slid down even farther. Tried winching and snapped the line a few times, then the winch completely stopped working. Hiked out about 5 miles (completely unprepared.. Didn't have a jacket and it was 17 * out). Then this morning we hiked back out, then a few more miles to the nearest town. Flagged down a snowmobiler who happened to own a tractor. So a couple hours later he pulled the truck out of the ditch.

    Lesson learned: don't be stupid, and definitely don't go wheeling alone.
