Negative, they front loaded several of those contract knowing they had to sign Russell.

Don't forget the cap will keep going up.

Yeah I said that, he's just wishing at this point. I don't understand the hard on for Del Rio. They gave him all kinds of new toys and the Denver defense still couldn't do anything when it mattered. We marched right down the field in OT, never let them touch the ball and Indy killed them in the 4th qtr.

They went about building that defense the wrong way. You can't just plug in a bunch of probowl FAs and have a championship defense.

I think Oakland will finally be on the rise. Al Davis is dead, and they have a promising young QB.

What you say Seattle has planned has never worked for any NFL team. The Koolaid may taste good, but reality is much better.

If the contracts are frontloaded than the Hawks won't have 20 mil free capspace in March unless they cut a bunch of guys.

More importantly, they have a GM that understands the salary cap in intimate ways AND knows how to draft and develop.

If they can stick a solid HC, they're gonna be a handful in the very near future

I don't think you've been paying attention to what Seattle has been doing, look up the numbers. They'll have some difficulties but they are rewriting how to run an organization.

Their GM is very, very smart. Like scary smart.

He learned under Ted Thompson and Ron Wolfe. You should make sure he never, ever leaves the Hawks.

Their QB has been making $650k per year. Those days will be over shortly. The organization hasn't been rewriting anything, they've just been without an expense that every other playoff team has.

Only guy I'm worrying about on the FA list is Demaryius Thomas, who they might just put the franchise tag on. Pot Roast might leave, but I hope not. Julius Thomas is expendable, if another team wants to give him a big contract, be my guest, he's no Gronk or Graham. Welker is gone, oh well, Emmanuel Sanders more than fits those shoes.

Del Rio is expendable. So many pro-bowl players and that secondary got burned so many times. No excuses. Oakland can have him, but just like Dennis Allen, they won't get too much out of it.

I thought CJ did a great job. That 4th down run yesterday was just awesome! But I'm also not sure if he's a long term solution. Talib and Ward were miserable so many games this season but I just know they're so much better than that and I don't think Del Rio was helping much.

As for Osweiler....I'll pass on that

Haha I was kidding about Osweiler..
But I think Shanny could make Andersen into a 2000 yard rusher lol.

Yeah I'm surprised they fired him though given where that defense was. But I understand why they did

I'd be willing to bet cash money Elway wanted to fire the defensive staff, and Fox flat out said no.

Which led to our current employment situation.

I would disagree. Fox was fired first. Then cleaned house. That was an embarrassing performance to say the least. No first downs all punts and we have a HOF QB with 530 career TDs. I think Fox was gone first. Our D has played very well up to that game, I don't think Del Rio was gone first.

I was wondering if maybe Elway wants to take a shot at getting Gary Kubiak. Obvious relationship there but I've been getting the jist that if they want Adam Gase to maintain a relationship with Manning (if he comes back) they'll give Gase the HC position. IDK what's the best way to go about it

You guys are more butthurt than the Cowboys fans... Marino and Manning over Brady? That's laughable. If "spygate" helped so much why is his win percentage more than 20 percent better after spy gate than it was during spygate? Sore bunch of losers, it's expected I guess...

He could go 16-0 every season but if he doesn't win the superbowl doesn't really matter

Just want to make sure that the same standard does apply to Manning, correct? In which, Brady is better by your definition. He's appeared in more Super Bowls, has more super bowl rings, has been in more playoff games, has more playoff wins, has thrown more playoff touchdowns, has a higher career win percentage, has a higher playoff win percentage, is 10/5 against manning himself... What other better stat makes manning better? Because he's thrown more regular season touchdowns? You answered that question... All those touchdowns "mean nothing if he doesn't win the Super Bowl." Manning has also been in the league three more seasons than Brady.

Never said superbowls was the only thing to go off of. With that logic Terry Bradshaw is better than Brady.

And Eli/Big Ben would be better than Peyton, which we all know is incorrect... So, what stat does Brady need to prove he's had the better career? I understand not liking someone, I fucking hate Peyton, but I still would rank him #2 just under Brady. Just because I hate him doesn't mean he's a bad player... It means he's my guys rival, and I am entitled to not like him. But we can't dismiss actual facts about players, that's just being ignorant and butthurt.

Honestly I think ranking players is stupid. Put Brady in the league when they didnt have all these bitch rules and he wouldn't be as good. Goes for everyone in the league now. It was a whole different league before I was born.

That being said I think he is probably one of the best QBs of this era. But I don't rank players. Peyton and Brady are two of the best in the league right now

    Ok that's fair...

What are you hoping to see for changes in Pittsburgh this year? Lebeau was great, but that may end up being a really great move for the Steelers...
