I see they added a vent for the side window on the driver's side:

Also they stamped the word Tacoma on the glove box:

What's crappy about the tacomas engine?
What's that mean for numbers? Is that a quality engine or another handmedown? What are the strengths and weaknesses of that design?

The more I see the tacoma, I am loving it. Can't wait to get in one one day.

Nothing proven. Some of us are skeptical about the Atkinson portion of the combustion design. With a properly tuned ECU paying attention to the right things it *shouldn't* be an issue on paper, but I fucking hate paper because it never matches the real world.

We'll see how it works out. My operating thesis is that 90something percent of Tacoma buyers rave about the improved fuel economy and since their truck is basically a daily commuter, never know what they're missing.

The HVAC vents look a little 'Fordish'. I still like it though.

What's wrong with the atkinson? And isn't the Otto there to make power where the atkinson does not?

And as for the last part, are you implying there are torque/performance issues that come with being efficient? True and good point about the commuting aspect.

There is a ton of research and development that goes on that we don't know about. Toyota probaby has years of testing done with this engine or some form of it

I wonder how much the cost of including this bullshit feature is....how it factors in to the $$ of the package. I know some people use GoPros for real cool footage, but for me I'd be like my Dad's friend who bought one to film himself innertubing down a river, lol.

^Looks like just the bracket is included. Probably a 5-cent part when purchased in volume.

Off-road buttons organized into overhead console like FJ. Note the crawl-control knob. A-Trac button will probably go there as well.

Think of it as an evolution of the GR family engine. Stronger, better, faster, more efficient.
