Like the way the interior is looking, just not a fan of the exterior

Why? Who cares? Turning the key on a modern car is a total legacy placebo anyway. If the key doesn't have a chip in it turning the key does nothing in the first place...

I honestly hope that allow the push button. Most cars don't even need a key. If you have a 12+ tacoma. When you go to start it, just turn the key to the "start" position and let go quick. You will here the car start on its own. The key is only there to allow the BCM to receive a signal to start. From there the computers do it. So really, you don't even need a key. Nor a shifter either since they mentioned the new tranny is "electronic." Just my .02. I think my 2010 is due for retirement.

I like the whole truck as it stands. With the competion of truck grilles going over the top already and black plastic trend running its course, i like the lone chrome grill. I see chrome working its way back w full size trucks, looks good again in some cases, like the silverado. Dodges retro take on the power wagon grilles and toyotas baja grille remain the winning designs imo.
Amazing how this color diminishes the new lines. Other colors will be a big difference, being they introduced new design in this color. The orange 4x4 sticker looks cool. Also the grille does not seem too flashy w this color.
Interesting how the spoiler on tailgate can double as a handle for closing the gate. The geared hinge seems like it could be an impediment for a work truck, but will be a good feature on this truck.
At first i wasnt liking the wheels on the limited or this trd, but now they are just reminding me of the old chevy super sport wheels and wheels are wheels. The streamlined wheel well flares are cool too, i guess they are not the standard black plastic, the material looks different. Its a cool truck.
I look forward to hearing about what folks have to say about the 6 speed transmissions and mileage with actual usage.

Yes, nearly the same as the 2015. Lost the front bed rail, and appears very slightly taller as well.

I like turning my key to start it. I don't need a truck to start itself, next the 2017 will fix all the bugs from the 2016 and drive itself too probably. I hate how trucks are turning into rocketships with ll the interior button everywhere, huge dash screen, BUTTON IGNITIONS. come on people. at least give me the option to turn my key.

Wut? My 13 doesn't have this auto start you speak of. I had a vehicle before my Tacoma that had this feature so I have tested this on the Tacoma many times (not deliberately).

I agree. That's why they have the SR package. The diehard work truck and SR5. Those two will probably be the only key start packages.

I know my 2010 doesn't start like that. Maybe the 12+ doesn't either. I never really drove one. Just kind of assumed.. Oops. Lol. But I know many cars usually start through the BCM now a days so a key is just a piece of metal you don't need anymore.

Besides the push button start, that vid shows the Off Road as also being available with heated seats and heated mirrors. This is awesome news. I hope this holds for the production models.

What is that on the drivers side floor of the Off Road model. Cable with some red tape on it?

How does the push start work? Whats stops kids from pressing it while you're offloading your shopping cart?

This is so much better than the new Tundra redesign. They actually changed the engine and tranny, and added a lot of options people on this site asked for.

Improved fuel economy and power (though I doubt the gains will be earth shattering).
    Retained class-leading ground clearance.
    Heated mirrors.
    Locking tailgate.
    Luxury options available.
Improved off road modes (take it or leave it).

Other than the fact that its ugly, I like it.

    nothing cool
Without reading through 7 different 2016 threads to find the answer, does anyone know if the Double Cab will have more interior room? Having 3 adults and a car seat in my truck its just a little tight. Didnt know if they added a few more inches to the cab for more leg room.

Here is how it works in a corolla:
SO it looks like the keyfob has to be inside the vehicle, and the brake depressed.

I also read to turn it off while driving, it needs to be held for a few seconds. When in park, a single quick press will turn it off.
