I was just out in that area about a month ago for a wedding. The whole state is beautiful, but the traffic is horrendous throughout Seattle-Tacoma area. Talking traffic at any part of the day. This is coming from a Californian. I still love going up there though.

Absolutely. Somewhere I have a picture of my Tacoma, next to the "Welcome to Tacoma" sign ;)

As an aside, the Tacoma, was not named after the city. It was named after the mountain known today as "Mt. Rainier".

You see, the mountain was known to the Salish tribe as "Tahoma", but that name was anglicized to "Tacoma". Both the city and the truck take their name from there.

    From the Toyota history FAQ:

Just think, you could be driving around a "Toyota Tahoma" or even a "Toyota Rainier", had things gone differently at Toyota corporate... ;)
