2016 Tacoma engine

So I wonder if a SC'd 4.0L can match HP/TQ/MPG numbers with the 3.5L, as long as one doesn't develop a lead foot.

This is just dumb. Im out!, whoever wants a v8 buy a freaking GM or FORD. I'll see you in 3 years trying to sell it when they give not even half of what you paid for

 

Would it be harder to sell a Tacoma with a V8 than one with a V6 and rotted frame?

 

Driving one in Europe (different specs ) is not the same as owning one (colombia assembled) its a 2011 and I am telling you is the same size. I have Tacoma (US), Hilux and FJ70 (Venezuela). Saying certain engine cannot be used as a truck application does not make any sense engines can be retuned and calibrated. why do you think Toyota has not disclosed the HP nor the torque for this engine. If it was the same 2GR as other vehicles they will just say the aprox HP and Torque of that engine and call it a day. Hell! I have seen a caterpillar diesel engine on a freaking F150.

 

I think it's pretty quick as-is. Despite being the "weakest" midsize, it's still the fastest.

I can't believe this thread got far as it did without actually facts, nothing but gossip and rumors

 

then how would you want an xrunner? same as stock with racing fenders and a scoop? at that point I could buy a hood, and fenders online, take them to a body shop and build my own....now I know they aren't goin to make one, but if they did again it better be faster and have more torque/hp than stock. (the new 3.5L stock)

 

No way that Hilux (Double Cab with regular bed) is the same size as Double Cab Long Bed in US
I just checked Australia 2015 Hilux (same as European) just in numbers Hilux is 6 inches more narrow (69.2 inches vs 74.6), and almost two foot shorter (DC to the DC) (196 inches vs 221)
So new one now is slightly bigger than first Gen but still much smaller than 2GEn.
Toyota commercial Engines are Developed by HIno. No you can not put car engine into truck and expect to last and perform.
Simple example split oil pan, simple idea not needed on cars but absolutely needed on Trucks.
EDIT: Wonder how many people know why there is split oil pan.

 

me loves the ride of a truck though.... ive had cars, but a truck just feels better pulsating in your veigns and you know it....

 

I get more of a rush bc the awesome truck+georgia= ladies... my gf has almost beat a few women about it... they get a lil too into my truck. gotta love the south....

 

Whenever I drive a car now, I get so annoyed because I can't see over anything. With the truck, that's not usually an issue.

lol im in college.... and here in GA its standard to have a truck, but its best if yours is modded.... mine has a legend.... theres even a story abt this girl me and my gf are friends with that almost got me killed.... but I cant post it here...
