soft tonneau covers and rain

im looking for a soft rolling or folding tonneau cover that keeps the rain out.

is there any out there that claim to be waterproof?

 

Most of them seem to be 90+ plus rain proof. Ive got the Access Roll Up, which is one of the lesser expensive options out there. I installed it myself, and literally the following day took it up to the lakes with the bed full of stuff. It POURED the entire 4hr drive, and not a drop made it in on our stuff.

Im sure you could even put extra attention into sealing it, etc.

 

I have an Advantage Torza top tri-fold soft tonneau cover. It works pretty damn good to keept he water out. The tonneau can be folded or the entire thing can be taken off completely and put back on in a matter of seconds.

Because the tonneau material is attached to the framework....when you take it off and put it back on, you have to pay close attention to the front/back and where the rubber is lined up. You can actually put this thing on crooked if you don't pay attention.

Some water can get in at the corners where the rubber is - if its not seated properly. But, it's nothing to even worry about. I love the top!!!

 

I had an extang cover. I don't think non of them claim to keep the water out, but this also worked well. May not be as expensive as the others.

 

i used to have the same cover on mine as well.. never got any rain in the bed.. only time it would get wet was a little when i was washing if i hit the rubber seal with the water hose.....

 

Same here, no rain unless its from the car wash.

I have the Access Literider. Same experience. I have never seen any water on the bed mat.

I got my Access Limited from Luke at TruckAlterations (cheapest place around) as well...

I've never had any water get in from rain, but the carwash usually lets some water in... Basically the water goes UP and under the seal and a small amount gets in... not really enough to get anything wet, but it does get in...

 

Have had no problems with mine either yet and love it. As mentioned, very easy to put on and take off, just have to make sure it's lined up straight.

 

how about sound are these tonneaus you speak of noisy at all? particularly on highways?

 

My TorzaTop makes no noise at all. Well maybe it does but I can't hear it since on highway it's already pretty loud from the wind hitting the doors etc.

The only way I hear any tonneau noise is if the slider is open.
