Noice. Now I'm contemplating putting some JP decals on the side of mine.

Just look at the build thread
Stick your exhaust outlet under water and stall your truck out and see what the result is.

    Don't stall :notsure:
It's still not going to get "sucked" in. Water will just in the exhaust up to the water level.

It will suck up water, my friend did it in his jeep, stalled in a pond and started her back up and blew his motor

So now that I am gonna have my rear diff diaper sandblasted and possibly PC (Thanks again Ryan). Ya'll think silver or grey would look good under my truck for all skids??

front diff, tranny, transfer case, and rear diff...I don't think I will do the gas tank since you cant really see it. but all the others are visible

    thoughts? or just keep'em black??

    Thanks

Pics for reference. I couldn't find a good one of the rear, but you get the idea

That's from sucking water in the intake. It's called a hydro lock. Which I have also done.

The only way u can do it with the exhaust side is if the engine is below the water line and you stall. It's not sucking in water, it's just water filling into the cylinders on the cylinders that have open exhaust valves. Basic mechanics my friend.

    Oh...

Silver to match paint. That's what I'll be doing on my next set of skids. I think it'll look neat

    I like black personally.

But I'm just wondering why you're choosing to possibly powder coat a skid plate? Inevitably, if it's doing it's job, it's going to get mangled. Powder coating will beat up and touch up will be janky.
