How to remove the back seats in your 2013 Access Cab

I just posted an instructable about how I took out the back seats to make more space in my 2013 Access Cab. I imagine the procedure is similar for most other year models. Lots of pictures for clarity.

That was my first mod. I did it to build my dog bed/ tool box. Still haven't come up with a good use for the seats. I thought about using them for hanging out in the back of the truck before I built my sleeping platform. I waited awhile before removing the head rests, but wish I had done it sooner.

 

So you gained 2" of rear depth but the truck looks like shit now. A new truck at that.

Just pull the jumpseats (2 bolts each), remove them and leave it at that. You'll gain significant space w them out, plenty for ur duffle bag, and your vehicle will still look like it's been finished.

No thirteen step process required.

 

Well, since nobody ever rides in my truck I suppose I'd rather have the additional space. I could always drape a blanket or some carpet over the back wall if it would make you feel better .

 

You could remove your headliner and gain an additional inch of headroom in the cabin

 

My 2015 came stock with no seats if anyone knows if i can add seats id be willing to pick some up! Might be having kids soon.

I personally would be trying to source a 2015+ base model "seat delete" Access Cab's fascia panel to cover up the back wall, because that looks awful.

Also, of all the bolts that you reinstalled, the two you really need to put back in but did not are the seat belt bolts - those hoes go straight through so you will get shit up in the truck through the holes. You can plug them with 7/16" GM plugs.

 

Well done. I am going to be removing the seats from my 2011 so that I can build a platform for our dog. Other than kids, most folks would be rather uncomfortable riding in those seats anyway.

I'd love to see how it looks without seats stock from the factory. Wonder if they used a different back panel. Can you snap some pics for us?

for those of us who have removed our jumpseats, and pulled the rear center console of our access cabs, those rear lids you linked to would be of interest... i wonder if i could find a part number... i bet they are plug and play...

not the back valance, the doors. i located them, waiting to hear back on cost.
