Thanks! That's what I was thinking, but I don't know a single time/reason that I'd have watched that movie. Maybe I've seen it elsewhere in a commercial or something.

Not trying to "fight" or drag this out, this will be my last post on it......But I think you might have a hair trigger on your BS card cuz really the stuff IS illegal, as a "general rule' anyways. It's not for certain authorized business' that go thru the proper legal channels but otherwise yes illegal. All it would have taken is one rational reply from you and we both would have clarified and understood each other's side and been done vs a BULLSHIT reply. It's all good, have a great day.

Just a bunch of old crap
Ok, just to clear one thing up, this stuff is detonation WIRE, not blasting cord! You can find this stuff at military surplus every once in a while. It's a round can about 8" in diameter and about 3" deep, and it is covered in olive drab fabric tape. In the center of the top of the can is a 2" diameter open hole, and the 1/4 mile of thin coated wire is inside. It's a very thin gauge double wire (like rigid micro speaker wire) used to hook up to a detonation device and then run wire a long ways away so you can set something off electrically from a safe distance.

It makes fantastic cordage or can be used in a pinch on low amperage electrical fixes (or splice a bunch of it together in parallel to handle more amperage). The coating on this stuff is thin but tough, strengthening it. I could build shelters with it, fix minor electrical wiring connections, use it like bailing wire to hold up a muffler, etc. etc.

    Nailed it.

Hell yeah! I'm a friend of Tim Ralston and his brother in law was an old high school friend of mine. Gear Up Center is right across the street from my office. Good people.

    Wire isn't illegal.

    I wish.

    Nailed it.

I was amazed when I learned that there's 1/4 mile of wire in the can. I would have guessed maybe a couple hundred yards max.

    Yup.

Normally this might be mildly hurtful or embarrassing, but I have a reasonable suspicion that your wife is likely a badass. So, thank you. ;)

You, sir, would be correct. She would have to be to put up with me. lol

She's a natural behind a firearm of just about any type. It's almost sickening how much talent she has naturally. Here was her first time really shooting other than a few shots here and there. This was a brand new Glock 26 she had never fired and it was her CCW qualification course of 150+rds of various drills including one-handed, off-handed, surrender position draws from holster, etc. Other than one flyer that's a pretty impressive target with all things being considered. Needless to say she decided that a G26 wasn't fitting her needs and got a G19 she wanted to carry and that bag is perfect for her needs so she can wear it cross-body and not worry about it getting snatched up off of her. She's really good at drawing/presenting from it too so while I'd rather see it on her person it's harder for chicks who have smokin' bods and wear fashionably tight bodies to do most of the time. I'd rather have her get consistent with something she'll do 100% of the time rather than good with something she'll do 40% of the time.

"Oh, that little guy? I wouldn't worry about him." :D

Haha... another off-topic anecdote: She bought the same bag from another manufacturer (I forget which one) in black and spent the entire evening bedazzling it. I must admit, even for a dude, I was pretty impressed with the final result. She had designs and all sorts of things going on and it looked bad ass. A week later the strap started falling apart. Since the LGS knows us on a first name basis and calls me before they even put new items on the shelf they didn't hesitate to take it back and gave her the Maxpedition in your picture, same color and everything. She didn't bother bedazzling it this time 'round since she learned her lesson and was afraid this one would fall apart early too. It's been rock solid for quite a few years now (six maybe?) and looks good as the day it was new. I highly recommend that purs.... I mean bag... for anyone in the market. The added bonus is when we're somewhere in public and she asks me to hold her purse I wear it proudly unlike the other actual purses she used to rock over a decade ago. :p

    Oh yeah, photographic proof:

    LOL

I don't know how to feel now. Maxpedition is great gear. The owner is a shady prick, but I give him money anyway. I just ordered a Janus extension pouch.
