    Yeah.
The rating from Toyota probably has more to do with what they are willing to cover under warranty. Even with the tow package, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable towing much over the 3500 lb. rating on a regular basis. That's more about being able to control the load than whether it would damage the engine or transmission.

Unless you plan to regularly tow more than 3500 lbs., I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Ah. I didn't even think of the warranty...the CYA deal. Good call.

Back to your original post. Have you looked into "Wheelskins" as an option for a leather steering wheel cover? I've used them with great results.

Hell yea dude! Those redblocks run forever. They're slow as hell but they can't be killed.

Nah, I'll check them out. I'm actually thinking about calling up the dealer today and find out how much to just add the nicer steering wheel now instead of changing it later. If it's not too much more, I'll just get it.

OP: off topic. I had a 240 GLT Turbo wagon, A 740 wagon and a 850R wagon exactly like yours. I miss my bricks. I still want to own a '66 122 wagon someday.

    I'm with ya.

Just from my experience ( live on the east coast), father in law has a 2008 275K, rarely if ever does he wash his tacoma ( he lives in PA where salt is dumped pretty much the entire winter). I checked his frame while he was playing with the kids this past Christmas. Nada, nothing, ziltch in the terms of rust, and he never coated it either. Frame doesnt look brand new , but none of this rust that the members on this site will have you believe if you arent outside every other week rinsing down your frame.

If its below 30 degrees outside zero chance I will hookup the hose and rinse off my frame. I just wait till it rains! The amount of time and anxiety that people waste on their trucks blows my mind.

On topic, check out wheelskins, I had one installed on the wheel of my 240sx and it was quality, had the car 10 years and it looked great when I sold it.

I remember that Vox wagon from swedespeed.com. There's a build thread there somewhere. It was my desktop wallpaper for a long time as were the walkinshaw 850 wagon.

    Yeah.
Some kind of auto braking thing to counteract any sway. A-TRAC for towing.

It's a T5R. They designed it (with Porsche helping on the motor and interior a bit) as their first real "sports car", if you will. Limited production of around 5k worldwide in sedans and wagons, with the creme yellow being limited to like 1500 of them. Not many people ordered the wagon which is why only 150 were made worldwide.

It's a pretty nifty car.... was the fastest car in the world with an automatic transmission when it came out. Plus world's fastest wagon.

EDIT: Wiki has the actual numbers.

"5500 T-5Rs were produced worldwide, of which 904 went to the United States, 185 were yellow. The 1995 850 T-5R was limited in exterior paint color choices:
    • Cream yellow - 1975 worldwide including saloon and station wagon
    • Black - 3025 worldwide including saloon and station wagon
    • Emerald green metallic - 0500 worldwide including saloon and station wagon"
So, there's 150 yellow sedans in the US and 35 yellow wagons here.

That's awesome if it's a real T5R! The yellows came without clearcoat, so even if it's faded, they usually bounce back with a solid detail.

Well this is stupid. I tried to get them to add the tow package, and they said that I have to upgrade to a higher trim level to get it. So I guess I'll just have them run the wiring harness and I'll add the receiver myself later.

I also tried to get them to add the just leather steering wheel, and they said I have to go from the SR package to the SR5 package. Which I don't want to do, because I don't want the chrome bumpers. :(
