    Pioneer CD, Megaloud/JBL amps, Rockford/Polk speakers.
    In that Carolina game, Ridley fumbled at the 15 of Carolina which cost the Pats at least a field goal. Had they at least got the 3, that last drive they could have kicked a field goal (and were within range for one) for the win. Granted you gotta make the kicks still but in some ways we shot ourselves in the foot.

    That said, the defender was clearly holding Gronk and it was not an easy catch anyway but not uncatchable. Argument can go both ways as I see it.

    I wouldn't consider it uncatchable. He was being pushed backwards and held... Had he been able to come towards the ball, at 6'7" with arms longer than most our torsos, I think he at least had a chance to catch it. But it doesn't matter now, and that wasn't my point.

    How does this NOT contradict? The rule says that the second a player's body touches the ground the ball is dead. Well, he caught the ball, had it in his hand. His elbow touched the ground. At that point the ball is dead. So if the ball is dead at the point his elbow touches the ground, then how can it be forced into an incomplete pass when the ball itself finally make contact with the ground? It can't, because the first rule states that the ball is dead the second his elbow touched. So yes, very easily a contradiction. Either way, I am hoping that Seattle get's past GB to the Superbowl.

    It doesn't matter anymore, but that pass was way underthrown and was offline. It was an interception that went straight to a defender that was playing underneath.

    Gronk wasn't catching that pass even if he was wide open.

    Because he didn't catch the ball, because he didn't maintain control through the ground. If there is no catch then it is completely irrelevant if he is down by contact. You can not be down by contact on an incomplete pass. You can only be a receiver who didn't catch a ball and fell down.

    The catch has to happen first and the catch is a process. It doesn't happen in the blink of an eye.

    Ball hits receivers hands:
    Is he falling to the ground?
    Are both feet in bounds?
    Does he make a "football" move?
    Does he tuck the ball away?

    Lots of things can happen in a second or two it takes to determine these things.

    What constitutes a "football" move? Sounds a bit subjective. . .

    And when the hell did this rule get implemented? [been away from football for a bit]

    The old rule used to be does the receiver have control of the ball, not did he tuck it away.
