Nissan Frontier rumored to be getting Diesel too, folks. Let's not forget that. Nissan has a better quality reputation than Chevy. I agree, Toyota dropped the ball. They are going to lose market share no doubt.

If they did not focus on $hit like GoPro mount they could invest that money in something real like extra paint on the frame.
This "redesign" is pathetic attempt on Toyota part. The same thing they did with "redesigned" 2015 Tundra and Sequoia.
Tacoma would not cost as much if they work on the things that are important and not silly crap like Moon roof or GoPro mount. You want moon roof go get minivan or Ridgeline. You want GoPro mount go get yourself $1 3M double tape roll at Walmart.
So 2016 Tacoma to me is Toyota's second strike in redesign fail.

Also since again I have to deal with Rusted frame thats also second strike when it comes to quality. So in my book:
Toyota you are on thin ice, my Pedigree chums"

In reality most people would not want their rear axle to explode as it happened to tons of TRD trucks.
In reality many people would have more choices with the tires if they design it right.
Their option 4.30 is pointless unless they really think their 3.5 is that bad that will need 4.30 to pull things up the hill.
Put 4.30 on the stock V6 1GR and you will be rolling asphalt on take off.

Now how about another roll of things tha tshould be but they are not.
Hey how about Dashboard with oil pressure and temp gauge? What no mount for that ?

the way a few whine in here? I don't blame him. I don't care if others have a different opinion, it's how it's expressed that matters.

It may not be as much fun as toyota service....
carried the truck in several times for the rear brakes and nothing.
also carried it in for spring problems ans tbey said they could do nothing...

Now there are Service and recalls for them...
wasted a bunch of time in the service department for nothing.

the only reason they'll lose market share is because of the increased competition and options in this segment. that would happen regardless of the changes to the Tacoma - it's economics 101. I don't think they dropped the ball - although i'll be the first to say I wish they had a diesel!

Thats not whinning, you want to see whining just wait when that truck with Sienna engine hits the dealer lots.

We can start bets on who will be the first one to start threads like:

"General lack of power what I can do?"
"My head gasket exploded what are my options?"
    or something familiar to 2gr (3.5L V6 )
"My oil leak out and engine destroying itself, Toyota refusing warranty any lawyers here"
" I can not climb hills with my Canoe in tow, will K&N filter increase my Horsepower and by how much?"
"People laugh at me because I have Ford 150 Lariat taillights and tailgate, what are my options"

    :D

What, so now it's a Sienna engine? I thought it was a Lexus engine. No, wait, a Camry engine. Uh, a Highlander engine?

Not crying thats why I added smiling face, just pointing out a failure.
You dont have to sit in the truck to see it has taillights with tailgate copied from F150 Lariat.
There is TSB for oil failure on 2GR engines already so dont have to sit in the truck to know that, especially if you know somebody who lost two of them in their Highlander.
Nor you need to sit in the truck to know 3.5L is a dog that has problems accelerating Rav4 or Sienna or Highlander so accelerating Double Cab Long Bad is out of the question.

Can I borrow your crystal ball to see what tonight's lottery numbers will be? You must have one because you obviously know what the new Tacoma is going to do before it's even on the market.

By the way, why do you even own a Toyota?

Sorry, time to disagree. I have the 1.8 in both a 2013 Prius and 2004 Corolla. Both 1.8s, but behave very differently. Something about the engineering. Real technical stuff, have to read Wikipedia again.

Pop a beer, binge on some Netflix, have some patience, and let's see that they do to this iteration of the 3.5. My money is on "pleasantly surprised."

Rav4 is a 4-banger. Your argument is invalid.

I agree, I really like my "09" But am not really sure why the form has labeled, the "16" Gen 3, outside of a weaker engine, & some minor interior changes it is about the same, don't get me wrong, I would purchase again in a heart beat, but Gen 3?? I think not. jmop
