I want to replace that lower black plastic crap between the fogs with a chromed, backlit grille that looks just like the grille of a '71 Chevy C10. It'll make the Taco look like it's got an creepy smile.

I can't wait to tailgate this Honda Fit that annoys me on my daily drudge commute.

OP.....I'm with ya. I love the styling of the new truck. Excited to see dimensions (come on more rear seat legroom!) and engine specifics. If it is **close** to the Colorados price, the Taco will be my next truck.

Definitely need some more rear seat legroom! I'm looking forward to seeing the dimensions and engine specs as well.

Well put - I think it would have been a bad move if they changed the looks dramatically. Definitely consistent with where the market is today and if the other motor companies decide to get back in the market it will only help strengthen the current tacoma. Let's hope they do.

I Agree with you in the term that this is not a New Gen and instead it is a better 2nd Gen.

But looking at it from another angle the truck is so good that it not need to be mess with. But I'm a litter disappointed that this is not a new Gen.

And to better explain my self you probably could buy the front clip and the rear panels and bumpers and put it all in a 2nd Gen. from my perspective a new Gen should not interchange parts with a previews gen because they are very different. I'll go farther to say that apart from connection on the wiring harness you could also swapped the dash from 3rd to a 2nd

One thing I doesn't understand yet is Why are they still use drums in the back that just kill it for me.

But the selling point for me is that I can Buy a 6Cil with a Manual that I could not do with a 2nd Gen and maybe and I hope a better trim level.

    :D

    Yep
look at the dodge what did they change.....
Disk brakes, solid axle, leaf springs to coil, axles, trans, frame several times, motors a few times, big changes on the inside, have stock 33" tires on some and good tires on most.....even air ride and air level with an areo package.
and they added a diesel. ...

Who says "most" people are disappointed? The poll on the 2016 Tacoma thread has something like 143 people liking it, 67 people "Eh", and 42 people not liking it. Maybe that's the new Common Core math, but looks like most people like it. Including me. What I see so far, I like. Can't really form a definite opinion until it's out in the public and we can see it in person and test drive it.

Disk Brakes - ok, Solid axel - ok, leaf springs to coil - Ok.... axles were also changed on the tacoma from the 1st gen until now. Trans was changed, frame was changed from the first gen until now, motors were changed each time there was a new gen, now more features like crawl control etc to take the place of your aero package/air ride you talk about with the dodge. So toyota has made changes as well. Maybe dodge has changed more motors because they weren't very successful.... other than the hemi that is. My point is the changes made to the dodge were made over time.... just as the changes being made to the tacoma are being made over time. Hell they give us a new engine, new trans, enhanced frame, new interior and people say it's the same old truck. Well then the dodge is the same old truck if we are using that frame of mind. I mean they gave us new axels, new trans, new engines, and a better suspension... but the truck looks the same as the previous gen! So it must be the same truck! That is if we are using the same logic you stated above.

I wonder how much GoPo paid Toyota to put that in there? Is it removable? It looks like the mirror is even lower to me. Looks like most of the shortcomings that I emailed customer service on are added.
