I don't get it, even the new Ford Raptor has a V6.... like is the V8 gonna be extinct soon ? Fuel economy is for the prius!

size isn't necessarily THE factor in terms of power anymore, and there's stricter government mandates on MPG now

So a more efficient V6 is better than an older V8... I understand that, BUT wouldn't a NEW V8 be even more efficient and powerful.

    just my $.02 :)

I mean, I'd like a v8 as much as anyone too

but throwing a 450hp 500lb/ft torque engine in a midsize truck aimed at the $27k-35k market isn't possible or reasonable

    it'd be sweet though

    those lips doe :D

shit...280-300hp/tq would be right in the Gspot

the new electrical crawl seems interesting...but also more stuff that can break. I heard the frs/brz has issues with the direct/port injection...maybe they found a solution for it?

I don't know how I feel about the Atkinson cycle vs a traditional 4-stroke...added 2 more moving parts vs a single connecting rod.

 for the 2017 re-design

Hell...it'll take a good year or more before people start designing/Fabbing plate bumpers and armor. Mine as well wait a couple years for all that to get hashed out as well...unless you like stock...:D

I agree with all the electronics on the new one. Geez...a switch that allows to to pick a condition for driving in and the truck does the rest? Mine as well get a self driving 4WD and sit in the back and eat popcorn:popcorn:

    Hi Miles:wave:

My check engine light and trac light came on. Anybody know where I can get a free code reading? Or should I go in for my warranty but I have like aftermarket suspension, lighting, and exhaust

they can't deny warranty for aftermarket parts unless said parts caused the problem. scanning it should be free since your truck is still new.

however, if you have a light for something like a wheel speed sensor and have a lift installed, that might be on you.

I have a scanner, if you want to come to me.

I'm located in ewa beach. Anyone around there? I like know asap before it's something bad. But it's running normal. I think it might be because my locking has cap. But when I put back the stock one it didn't turn off. And I was running the locking gas cap for 100 miles without a problem

could also disconnect your battery for ~10min, that will clear any soft codes that might have tripped from something like the gas cap.. hard faults will remain
