His birthday is coming up, just not soon enough. This year he starts to crest the hill. I think he will need a big party.

In all seriousness though I do turn 40 this year. I wonder if the wife will let me pull the trigger on a mid-life crisis purchase this year!?!?!?

When the GTR came out I had a plan to be able to pay cash for an early model year used version by now. I'll be damned if they didn't jack up the MSRP enough to where the used ones are actually picking up value instead of losing. Passed up on one for just under $40k that my buddy had a few months after he bought it brand new (rich guy who gets bored easily) and now I'm kicking myself. It was the dark grey color and the Premium or whatever the upgraded model was the first year and only had like 5k miles on it including a trip to Texas & back. Now you can't even touch a salvage title GTR for $40k. Screws my plans all up. Guess I'll just have to get a 2016 Tacoma instead. Poor poor me.

Yeah I just rolled an old 401k over to my current employers plans and they had to mail me the check and then I mail it to the current investment company. I was wondering if I could figure out a way to simply cash that check and go to Nissan. It will almost cover MSRP on a new one.


Nah... better save it for hip replacements.

 

If you think that's bad, next time I see you in person remind me to regale the tale of the time I was sitting in a Lamborghini Gallardo contemplating writing a check for it and instead decided that the same money put towards my residential real estate endeavors (where I got the money in the first place) would be a wiser investment sometime around 2006ish. Needless to say several years later I would have been MUCH better off with the Lambo investment-wise. Wish I had the ability to predict the future at that moment. I would have been fine with still losing my ass on real estate had I been able to buy the car instead.

 

We will just say I said that to get a early jump start on the 40th party. Not that I got a notification on my phone for Eric M's birthday. To bad I know more then one Eric M.

 

Back to reality and my body hates being sober right now. FYI jumping off the stratosphere is amazing and you should all do it!
