NW WA Meet / BS Thread

AWilson013 and I did it last summer. Most of it. Had to detour around a couple sections due to fires. There's plenty of info online about it and downloadable apps and maps. Trails aren't too difficult but wide enough for mid and full size rigs. Good test for vehicle reliabilty(hundreds of miles on rough roads) and awesome scenary along the way. Highly recommend it. I also didn't like the 5th Gen 4Runner when it came out, and now I own one...

For sure. Talk about a "shakedown" run. Don't take your newly purchased SAS'd Tacoma on it...

 

How many of those are stolen from north of the border? LOL

 

I'm a little confused on the new Tacoma. Same Cabs, New Fenders, New Grill "AGAIN", new 6 speed Auto Tranny, Smaller new engine. I feel it's still the same truck after a mod day. Anybody feel the same?

 

Lol. If you're replacing the engine, transmission, transfer case, redesigning the frame, and installing a completely new interior on a mod day I want to see pics of your garage.

 

I wont ever consider another Tacoma until it's offered with a V8. The new squared fender look is ok, but the front end is terrible.

 

We should just get a bunch of colored/white/black 8-10" decals that say
P.N.W.toyotas

slap it on the canopy and call it good. and then when we get a design that we all like, and put that on a sweatshirt.

Are you going to use this as a plug to make a mold? If so, I'm interested and can make them from carbon fiber left over cloth at the boat shop.

 

Ya, that is exactly what I am planning on doing. Sounds like this is right up your ally.

I was planning on using fiberglass fabric for the first layer, then fiberglass mat for thickness and durability, then fiberglass fabric again for smoothness and to hold it together.

What do you think?

 

Sounds good. Let me know when your done with the prototype. I'd like to try making one using infusion and carbon.

 

Well you wanted opinions. I don't particularly like stickers on my truck, so keeping it simple is what i prefer.
