Well went to big creek today and had a great time! Got into some fun situations. Trails were super tight. I felt like I was driving a school bus amongst all the jeeps lol

Interested in watching how you make that work. FZJ80 axles would be sweet under a Taco. You've got some work to do to get the steering sorted out and you'll have to change transfer cases but it should be sweet when you're done.

Not a fjz, just a fj80 lol. Target for this won't be mad flex as you know the stock radius arms won't give mad flex. But for now just a nice reliable, strong set up with slightly more flex.

Here's another build that used the 80 axle with radius arms, I'll be pretty much going off his build

Nice! Just a thought but it would be a lot cheaper to pick up a w56 so you can use gear drive pass drop t cases. I think that adapter for the tacoma trans is expensive. Of course that will only work if you have a 3rz. That's how my tacoma is setup

I've got that planned haha older style tcase, marlin 4.7 kit which changes it to 23 spline, and Tg adapter plate

Have you taken your axle apart yet? I found that my birfs are 30 spline and I'm trying to see if it is actually an fj80 instead of an fj60 axle. I know my mini truck stuff, not these.

The front will have 30 spline at the diff and hub gear. The joint itself should be 27 spline. If the joint is 30 spline then it's an upgraded joint. You defiantly have the FJ60 judging by the size of that center section.

Yeah I found the stock spline counts while I was looking at chromos. Anything else I should know about this axle?

Nice! Have fun lol. Every weld is different

Chris, how's the strength of the fj60 housings? Should I truss and gusset the knuckleball like the mini trucks?

Honestly I'm not sure on that. Wouldn't to do it though, I'd search over on ih8mud and see. Oh and I just came across a FJ80 rear axle, it's the semi float version but still the 9.5 third. If your Interested let me know.
