Probably right about the hit. The skid will be 3/16". If I don't like it I'll just get my buddy to draw up a different one and get the shop to make one to replace the struts. honestly, I don't like the struts hanging down. I've smacked them on rocks a few times and the sound it makes sucks.

Brand New here to TW, I just bought a 2006 Access Cab Sport 4x4 with a fabtech basic lift. It came with 20's but I changed those out real quick for some 17x9 XD addicts with 4.5" BS and 295x70x17 cooper st Maxx's.
Anyway, I want to get rid of the tophat spacers and put some nicer coilovers on, can anyone point me to a specific CO that will work with this lift? I also want to get rid of the blocks but that's in the future.

Icon & Fox make a set, I have the Icon's. A custom leaf pack is the way to go in the rear, Deaver or Alcan for those.

    Welcome to TW

Thank you, I was thinking alcan for the rears. I'm just wondering which CO's will fit? I've been looking at 2.5 Kings, I know 2.5 refers to the diameter of the shock, but how do I know it will fit?

As far as I know Icon and fox are the only ones that make an actual production coilover you can buy just about anywhere for the 6" lifts.

On the other hand you can run RCD extended bilstein 5100's and toytec coils to achieve 6" of lift if your on a budget (no spacers). Thats what im currently running but, switching to fox's when they come back from rebuild. Here's a pic of the extended billy's to give you an idea. These are not regular 5100's like everyone thinks..

I totally forgot about Niel and his Billie's!! I'm sorry Neil, we did just discuss those recently.
The Icons run about 1300 nowadays but I think DSM may have them for less with free shipping. I cannot speak to the Fox's shocks but the guys with the BDS/Fox setup seem to love them.
Regardless, losing those shit spacers or if you had PC coils is the best upgrade you can make to your ride quality.

Only complaint is the springs that come on them. 16" #600 spring rate. Wasn't a fan as far as holding up my bumper.

Hoping somebody with a factory bumper/fox can chime in

Icon are 650 and I was told to not bump to 700 until I have skids, bumper and winch... So basically that's years away.

Why not just put some pre load on them to get some height back?

I could, but on the rare occasions I go actually wheeling;) pre load won't save me from rubbing.

    for your install

    I agree

    Yes
I will sell you my King 18" 700lb coils, I'm swapping them out for 650lb Eibachs. ( King doesn't make an 18-650 ) The 700's are stiff as fook even with a bumper and winch. 600's w/o a sway bar were like playing " fear factor ". I will actually have 2 sets of coils for sale, I have 14" 600's too.

Any tire shop should rebuild them with the mount and balance. Discount tire charges like 7$ per corner
