Well hopefully someone will develop a aftermarket bumper by early 2016 that would make it look better imo

Hey all, anyone in the MD area have the stock engine armor lying around they don't want? I left mine in Texas and I don't want to leave the underbelly of my engine exposed.

I'll get some aftermarket stuff down the road, but in the meantime I would like to have something there. Obviously can pick up + pay.

I never even noticed one skid was aluminum and the other was steel, but I just need the front steel skid plate, which protects the front part of the engine. I never needed to take off the transmission skid plate when I was installing my lift.

The aluminum one bolts to the steel one. You probably only need the steel one. The other one is mostly for looks

Hey guys! I ordered a 2015 Taco, and I've been poking around the site nonstop since then haha. My truck isn't going to be here for another 6 weeks, so I'm learning as much as I can.

People seem to complain about frame rot and they're suggesting fluid film. I have zero experience with that...do you guys know anywhere in MD where I can get the frame sprayed with that? Or is this a "buy it and figure it out" kinda deal?

I don't care for fluid film. Makes the truck hard to work on because everything is covered in oil. And you have to keep it off of rubber body mounts, belts, hoses, etc.

first off, Welcome! I see you're in silver spring? I'm not too far from you (originally from Northern MoCo, but moving to Arlington, VA this weekend). Where in Silver Spring are you? I have a good friend who is up in Kensington and one who's right at the intersection of Spring and Georgia.

As for the fluid film, I believe it's more of a DIY project, but don't quote me on that. I know a few of the guys here have done it themselves.. I have not but plan on it next winter. Doesn't seem too complicated.

    ^^^^!!!!!!!!!!

every time I go under the truck to work on something, I make sure to have a can of bedliner with me. quick spray on a small area every time you crawl under the truck, and before you know it, you don't have to even think about rust, and you have a fully bedlined undercarriage.

I'm from MoCo too....born and raised in Brookeville (right next to Olney). I'm currently living right at New Hampshire and the Beltway. I actually work in Crystal City; would love to move closer but I couldn't afford to live in Arlington and still have a garage.
