    Has anyone done this successfully on a 2012+?

    I've been wondering this too. I have all the stuff to do it but it seems like the wiring behind the glovebox is a little different then the write up in this thread. I don't know enought about the electronics to start hacking into my daily driver.

    I smell clutch way too often. Backing up trailers, moving fire wood around the yard and not wanting to dig up the grass in 4wd. Backing up my steep curved driveway with a load in the bed. And, I have been driving clutch for 20 years.... This mod would be perfect if it works on newer Tacomas.

    im going to give it a shot... been driving manual a very long time too.

    never smelled clutch on my 2012 4x4, until earlier today... had to back out of a tight trail, incline + nice size dirt obstacle and smoked my clutch real well.

    def trying this mod...

    I'm very interested as well. All I got so far is the switch, but thats a start. I too am reluctant to cut into my daily driver wires... I've got a 12 too!

    This truck replaced my pre-tacoma 95, I used 2wlow all the time, real handy and better for the truck.

    the 2012 are no different than the previous years except for maybe a wire color change. The transfer case and front differential are the same parts. Just make sure you have the current wiring diagram for your truck and compare wire colors before snipping.

    100% serious.

    I'll pay someone's round trip from the west coast to Maui and a lil extra for the install.

    From as far as Oregon, Cali, AZ. I'll take care of it.

    I'd love to go to Maui! But... school isn't going to allow that...

    My wife and I were in Oahu last January. It pretty cool but Honolulu is way too crowded...
