Well.....Someone gave them the idea.... and obviously, those people aren't on this forum.

Or maybe - did you ever think - that GoPro could've struck up a deal with Toyota to put those on the trucks? A very good marketing tactic.

Or maybe, the people who would use them...aren't wasting their time on this forum. :D:thumbsup:

I'm disappointed that folks here seem disappointed with the new Tacoma.

I went from a 2006 GMC Canyon to my 2014 Tacoma. For me, there was so much new stuff on the Taco that made it so much more "modern" than my old Canyon. I can understand the seeming lack of upgrades if you go from a 2015 to a 2016 Tacoma, but heck...I'm happier than a duck in water with my 2014, and I think the 2016 is even better.

My "only" gripe is going to the smaller displacement engine. I really don't care if it makes more horsepower and torque because it will do just that, but only at higher RPM's from what I have gathered so far. (I.E., 6000RPM redline on the 2016 V6).

I have the same feeling with my 12' as I also came from a 355, mine was a 2005 Colorado. When I bought my Tacoma I couldn't believe how much nicer of a truck it was, night and day. My Colorado started having so many issues around 80k that it was time for her to go!

Well you're half right. The peak hp is near 6000 but the 90% torque starts from 2000 rpm and is flat to 4500 where the VVTi kicks in and goes flat again to redline. That's just on the regular 2GR-FSE, add the Atkinson cycle Toyota plans to introduce, it should be pretty impressive.

    Here's a pdf of the 2GR-FSE:

I got my 2014 in April last year. I did a complete side-by-side with the F-150, and I can get A-plan pricing on Fords (about 20% off the model I looked at). Even with that, the 2014 TRDOR comes better equipped, and with a better reputation. For me, the pricing was even. If you don't have A-plan with Ford... it's a whole lot more for nothing more than a "bigger" truck.

a lot of us don't like the new 2016, ok, but there are a lot here that can't handle the criticism of the new one. It sounds like they are "plants" from Toyota to stop the negative posts. It didn't work. My wife and I were looking at the new 2016 Tacoma or the Subaru Outback. After she saw it, right now the Outback is in the lead We both just think it is a cheap knock off of a nice Truck. BUT as I have posted several times, We will make the final decision after we drive it and sit in one.

I could say the same for those who criticize it in general without known facts. Just blabbing on rumors and gossip without knowing firsthand the actually specs.

    I have a few mods
I actually think the new taco is pretty cool. yeah its got the same shape and look, but its really not the same truck, new trans, engine, interior, etc. Which I think its got some pretty new cool features, it's a little funny listening to people whine about the new taco. A lot of you guys have extremely unreasonably high expectations about the new gen3 taco. id def like to pick one up once i pay my '06 off just to see what its like and how good it is, its Toyota for cryin out loud...I know its going to work and last forever. Id like to pick up a 4x4 doublecab long bed manual.

The only thing I don't like is the front part. The grill and headlights make it look like an ugly Dodge Ram. If they kept the 2012 headlights then it would be good.

You will have to wait and read the owners manual to understand how to fixate the go pro in the mount.

Toyota has had a very impressive pedigree over the years, including the Land Cruiser, Camry, etc, not to mention the Tacoma trucks. The Tsunami in Japan really set Toyota back a few years but they are getting back to normal now. There is a new Tacoma in the works but their priority is not the truck market right now. Their current truck line is selling well based on their quality and reputation - really a good thing! Have you a specific issue with your Toyota? It sounds as if it's done well since 2006.

That clears it up, thanks LH.......

Well, maybe I will be standing in line come November! :)

There are a lot of members here who are afraid to say they like the new Tacoma. They're scared to admit their fondness of the new Taco because of the osmosis-type infiltration here by under-cover Genital Motors insurgents.

Really....it's just a truck - but I bet your negative comments will go directly to the "Bored of Engineering and Design" and we will se an immediate re-invention of the all-new 2016 Tacoma which resembles to a "T", the 2012 Tacoma!
