The modded pics of the '16 look really good. I wasn't drinking the Koolaid until I saw those, but I'm still not getting rid of the 2012 for a long time.

I was one of the owners who couldn't wait until bumpers were available for the 2012. I can't imagine all the bitching that we'll hear from the 2016 owners a month after it's available ("Why doesn't ARB have a bumper to sell me!!!) Bumper has since become low on the list of priorities.

I'm really interested to hear how the terrain control works - especially crawl.

I'm going to reserve judgement until I can actually test drive one but I'm worried that once I do I won't be able to say no

If I was in the market today I would definitely the 3rd generation on the list to consider. I've got 4 more years left on my 2010 (I buy a new vehicle for my wife or I every 5 years). That will give it time to mature and get the kinks out. Maybe it will have a chrome package for us old guys. :D It will probably be another Tacoma or go back to a 4Runner again. I'm finding the I use the truck bed less and less as I get older.

Definitely going to trade in my 2004 for a 2016 TRD Off-road fully loaded. I'm not worried about the first model year thing or potential bugs, they will be covered by the warranty.

I am curious and I defer to those of you who understand 4X4 drive trains better than I do...With the new traction control system for the 2016, when I get mine and I install ARB front and rear lockers will it still operate the same or will it change or disable the way it functions?

I am warming up to the new design more and more for both the outside and inside and I really like the upgraded features they are going to offer. I really hope they still offer the sun roof with the TRD Off-road model.

I would think people might be able to pre order around July. I can't wait to drive one!

some of this, a little of that
I'm looking forward to the 2018 Tacomas, mine will be 10 years old by then and it will give the 3rd gens a little time to work out the kinks. So far I like what I have seen of the interior and the exterior is growing on me.

TWEEEEEET!! Penalty! This is a "non-bitching" thread, and that was clearly bitching. 10-yard penalty, loss of down.

Take that crap to one of the other 2-dozen threads used for bitching. We're all sunshine and puppy dogs over here!!

I like the new features, love the interior, and am excited to see how they perform. There are a couple things I dont like, but then again there are a couple things I dont like about the 2nd Gens. lol I like the OR trim better than the Limited by far. I stand by my assessment that the 3rd gen looks like the runty offspring of a Tundra and a 4Runner!

If the off-road DCSB is offered w/manua, I will upgrade from my 2006.

    I like:
    - The new Khaki color
    - The interior appearance
    - The parking brake handle location
    - The black fender flares
    - Tailgate
    - That the design is evolutionary, not revolutionary. Don't fix what is not broken.
    - That a new engine/trans is offered (though we need to see what performance is)

I like the return of what looks like speedway blue, I like what looks like the composite bed.. Patience I'm thinking...ok that's about it. Not enough information of substance yet to make up my mind on the rest of the package, styling will have to wait for an "in the metal" look see.

I won't complain about the '16, but in all fairness I've not even looked at it.

    Because I don't really care. :p

My-new-to-me-'13 just rolled 10k miles, does everything I want out of the box, I'm having fun tweaking it and it's getting over 20mpg around town.

I like it, the Offroad package especially, and I love that it looks like that will be available with heated seats (finally) and heated mirrors. the interior is very nice looking, much nicer than the Colorado, which I was also considering. Maybe they'll actually have remote start, too. That would be sweet. And no giant mud flaps! Happy day.

Awesome! At the end of the day, that's what it's all about. A-boot for our far-northern friends.
