cant tell if it's the meanest DOMS I've ever had or if I strained something. Didn't even go to class today, just sat in bed because it hurts like a bitch to stand up straight/sit down

might've overdone it trying to get back into the gym rhythm this week

and I'm not pissing chocolate so I got that going for me, I guess. lol

I've pulled something in my lower abs before a few times and it hurts to bend back, like when you wake up and stretch. Peeing also made me double over. For me, it only lasted for a day or 2.

I finally woke up this morning not feeling sick, so today I can finally get my ass in the gym and actually start eating right. 3 days of under eating and not lifting makes me feel like I've lost 10 lbs of muscle!

Why do my forearms hurt like shit? Oh yeah, went up to 25 pound dumbbells and did hammer curls last night.

The run this morning was surprisingly nice. The sun rose on my way back and the sky was vibrant. I took a back road behind my house so I could drop Ash's lead. He loved it, passed out before I left for the gym. I ordered some cheapo winter compression gear finally. I needed these for awhile, been sucking it up in the mountains with jeans haha.

It was also a warm 30 degrees with no wind so I opted for a pair of shorts, a long sleeve and gloves. Felt great, the knees were a tad chilly though. I really need new running shoes, these are almost two years old, no tread and my pinky toe hangs out the side haha

Fiiiiinally got in the gym this week. Surprisingly, I didn't lose any strength during my flu bout. I did lose 2 lbs though, but I'm cutting, so that's no biggie….only one pound more than expected…and it was probably water weight, anyway. I did notice that I lose some endurance, though. I wasn't able to do as many reps as I was last week, but that'll bounce back quickly. I took it pretty easy today, but I did sweat more than usual and I smelled really bad, both of which rarely happen…I think I was "sweating out" the last of the sickness

    Ran a mile: 12:00
    flat bench: 135x10, 225x6, 185x9, 185x6
    one arm dumbbell row: 2 sets of 8, 10 w/ 75, 70 lb dumbbell
    standing overhead dumbbell shoulder press: 3 sets of 10, 12, 12 w/ 50, 45, 45 lb dumbbells
    cable crossovers: 2 sets of 10, 9 w/ 80, 70 lbs
    v-grip rows: 3 sets of 12, 10, 8 @ 150, 165, 180 lbs
dumbbell side lat raises: 2 sets of 15, 12 w/ 25 lb dumbbells
    incline dumbbell preacher curls: 3 sets of 15, 12, 12 w/ 25 lb dumbbells
triceps pushdowns: 3 sets of 15, 12, 12 @ 200, 212, 215 lbs (our weights on the machines only go up 200 lbs, so I put a 12 and then a 15 lb dumbbell on top of the weights b/c I've been doing 200 for the past 3-4 weeks, so I figured it was time to make some progress…I caught a few people looking and it felt awesome)

Leg day and decided to do less weight and go ass to grass on my back and front squats. I have never gone ass to grass for fear of re-injuring my knee. But it actually felt better on my whole body to bottom out then come back up. But I have a feeling I'm going to be walking funny tomorrow.

I have been squatting ass to grass since I was a baby! Only way to go. I wonder if I am stopping earlier with lighter weight and that's why my knee hurts...hmmm

yep, same with people who bench 2 inches above their chest and complain of shoulder problems.

I did ATG front squats and my left knee got a shooting tingle at the end of my set. I'm gonna see how it does next week when I do legs and if the same thing happenes I may look into a knee brace/sleeve

Make sure you have no heel lift at the bottom of your squats, heel lift is the biggest knee killer.

I squat in vans and they help me to keep my heel planted firmly. I don't think I had any heel raise but I'll pay closer attention to my form next time. They may have raised when going back up :notsure: I typically keep my chest and ass pushed out when squatting to maintain form.

For me chucks and vans help keep my feet flat and firmly planted to stabilize me better as opposed to my nike's that don't keep my heels planted because of all the cushioning.

This! I dont know why people have the idea in there head ass to grass is bad for there knees. Ass to grass transfers the load to the hips while pausing above parrallel loads the knee which isnt a berry strong joint. Full depth squats work both the ham and quad in turn strengthning both sides of the joint!
