Nice looking truck, I've got 265/75r16 on my Baja and have a good bit of room with those, always wondered how 285's would do without chopping the cab mount.

Just curious, what's the big deal with 285's? Almost every other post is about how to fit 285's....

Can someone explain it to me because I'm at a loss... Are they magical or something?

    Thanks,

    Jay

OP, nice truck by the way!

I think some with a pro has 285s as well. You may have to search.

I would think since the amount of lift is the same and the wheels are the same (only a different color) the tire fitment information is interchangeable between the Baja and the TRD Pro

I love how you're getting a bunch folks who don't know your truck telling YOU that your tires rub. Sometimes TW isn't very helpful.

    Truck looks great!

I have 285 KM2's on my truck and I definitely don't rub. Another member in my state also has the same style rims as us and don't' rub (full lock/fully stuffed). I just had to remove the front mud flaps and plastic flap things in front of the fender. I believe you OP.;)

its funny how much people love to hate the baja. im not sure why every one seems to care so much. if you dont like it dont get one. lol seems simple enough...

    A little a this, a little a that...
If they don't rub, they're not big enough.

You guys should be getting a break.....seems most of those who were dissing on the Baja's have switched their efforts to the TRD Pro Threads! Almost bought a white Baja....really like the trucks (sans the tire track logo which seems to be a love / hate thing). Funny thing is I have yet to hear anyone who bought either a Baja or a Pro complaining about either the truck, or what they paid for it.

I love my baja, but I have also wheeled the hell out of it and my 255/85's DO rub (shorter and narrower than the 285/75s being discussed) - now they ONLY rub the fender liner and if the rear is ULTRA stuffed, like max articulation they rub the flare on the front of the rears.

I made posts of my 255/85s saying they didn't rub also but once I truly went out and beat the thing like it was meant to be beat, they DO rub, I guess WHAT they rub and whether or not it matters is a relevant question - do i care about the fender liners? no - they are 92$ per side - when i sell the truck I'll replace them.

Are you sure about that? All the 255/85s I've had experience with were a quarter inch to a half inch taller than the 285/75.

On my tundra the wider but slightly shorter 285s rubbed when the taller but narrow 255 didn't.

As long as it's not a binding rub it's no problem. A little rubbing is just an offroad love tap. The truck letting you know you've maxed its current capability.

Oh i'm not worried about it, I'm just being honest about whether or not they rub.
