Installed a 12" section of L-Track at the front of the bed for better cargo management control when I'm not fully loaded. I've got (7) more 12" sections of track to bolt in when time permits. Good stuff!



Built my own tool for the rivnuts, cheap and works.

Welded up a Flowmaster 50 series, got it cheap on Amazon and had the same one on my 1st gen and loved it.

Mine has been used a couple times so far

 

1. Don't plan on getting stuck.
2. Its only rated for 2000lbs and the truck weighs more than that.
3. I'll switch to my stronger shackle, my hitch ball, or just my 12,000 masterlock pin if i need to pull someone out or be pulled out.
4. Its primarily for looks

Never use a hitch ball for recovery. They become mini cannon balls when they fail.

Yep. Home Depot sells a good recovery strap that is looped at both ends (no metal hooks) 20' and 30' rated for at least 8000 lbs IIRC.

 

I hear that a lot but i have done it in a pinch multiple times, didn't have any issues. however....now i know better and will just use the 12k hitch pin with the tow strap through it
