You diss a gun and say you'll never buy it but won't list reasons why and say you're done talking about it as if a line has been crossed? Did I miss a post?

I won't buy a savage because I have had several misfires while coyote hunting, with my 700 I haven't had a single misfire. So thats why I won't. But at least I have a reason.

    Welcome, son.

AccuTrigger has a leg up on Remington triggers, which were recently recalled BTW (check your serial numbers for recall coverage). I've never fired a Savage though, I don't think.
No you didn't, unless I did too. Maybe he has a very difficult emotional road in his future, dealing with the loss of his Savage and bitter anger is his only way to cope in the meantime.. haha
Smears on the toilet seat never lie. :puke:
Misfire how? Misfires are 99% ammo related.
    BOOM. MULTI QUOTE.

1- I'll give you a dollar for it.

2- Accutrigger is a nice, but I wouldn't rank it higher than the Remington's in terms of trigger feel. I don't particularly care for adjustables, personally. I like a trigger to have a nice solid pull as long as it doesn't affect accuracy. Hair triggers make me nervous. The one on my Remington breaks cleanly like the proverbial 'glass rod' and has zero creep or overtravel.
Triggers rely on a great deal of personal preference, though.

As for the recall jobby, I do need to send mine back. I took it apart before hunting season and I don't see any excess bonding agent, but I'd rather send it back to be sure. I just haven't gotten around to actually doing it yet.

3- Boom. Multi quote quote :p

$1 huh? That's about 1/1200th of what I paid, but if another year goes by and it's only worth 75 cents, then I just lost another 25% of it's value. I'll have to think about it, but not for too long.

    Depreciation's a bitch... :D

Edit- Wait, I forgot...you're in California.
    Deal's off.

Your gov't probably altered the gun pre-sale so it won't shoot straight, lol.

Get whatever you want dude. My friend has a WW2 era Mauser with open sights that hits the same 400 yard plate I do with my 700 and Leupold scope. My 700 is pristine and cared for, his is a piece of shit. Both hit the target.

LOTS of people love Savage, LOTS of people love Remington. They can't both be wrong simultaneously, therefore - there is no right. Get what you like and go shootin'.

Wait, hasn't Timney been having an issue with light primer strikes with some of their triggers lately?

Not that i know of. I won't crank it down anyway. It goes down to 2 or 2.5lbs and i don't really like anything below about 3.5lbs

The newer smooth trigger model 700s have a recall that the trigger group can discharge the round when the safety clicks forward to fire.

So MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THAT 700 Michael. Put in the serial number and see if it is effected before you buy it, and you can ask the guy if he has done anything with the trigger. If it has an aftermarket trigger, it should be fine.
