start pulling fuses till you find the draw. it should be somewhat easy to narrow down.

Before you get started, make sure the radio and any other audio and video accessories are off. Close the vehicle's doors and/or turn the dome light and any other interior lights off. Disconnect the negative cable from its terminal on the battery. Adjust your multi-meter so it will read 12V direct current (DC) and connect the meter's positive probe to the negative battery cable and the meter's negative probe to the negative terminal on the battery. If you're using a test light, connect the clip/lead to the cable and touch the probe to the battery's negative terminal. If the test light comes on or the meter reads 12V, some circuit is drawing voltage from your battery. At this point you can check the amperage of the drain using your multi-meter, but if the drain is higher amperage than your meter is rated for it will blow the meter's fuse. If the test light is bright or the amperage reads more than an amp, the draw is significant and needs further investigation.
Take the positive lead to the meter and go through the fuse block with the negative still hooked to the battery and see whats pulling current, you can isolate what circuit its on this way- once you find the circuit thats giving you problems find a wiring schematic and test all leads to the circuit with your meter on ohm setting.
Have fun its usually very time consuming.

Pulled this pic from member dhurley's gallery, on my fuse panel I have 20 amp fuses in all of the spots with a slash through them. The 2 in the middle has 12v to them, so I pulled them out.

I just had this problem with my daughter's car. I got lucky, but my plan was to track it down with a multimeter (reading amps), and pulling fuses until the amperage dropped. Then, i'd know I was in the right neighborhood.

Set your multimeter for amps. Unhook the wire from the negative battery cable. Clip one lead from your multimeter to the wire you just pulled off the battery. Connect the other lead from your multimeter to the negative battery terminal. Basically, you're inserting your multimeter into the wiring of your truck and using it to complete the circuit. You'll see a current. Pull a fuse and check again. Put that fuse back and pull another. Over and over, until the current drops. Then you'll at least know what system is involved.

On my daughter's car, when all was well, it was drawing about a tenth of an amp when it worked right. If you want I'll check my truck and let you know what it draws.

It depends on how "not connected" things are. If you just cut wires and they are bare and grounding out on metal, that would be an issue. If you didn't seal them off, I would start there and check all of your "not connected" wires to make sure they are closed off.

Ahh, thanks. Interesting. I guess some previous owner installed . . . something and wired up a new circuit?
