***BAD SELLER***

I sent this guy $120 for the Blue grill on 12/22/14 and have not received anything from him. He wont respond to me. Can a Moderator or some one that knows this guy help me get my money back?? I have filed with Paypal already but got nothing out of that either.

Did you have an agreement to purchase before you sent the money? Paypal has been really good to me in getting my money back, go hard at that. Was the $20 extra to cover shipping?

 

Don't believe a MOD will be able to do a things for you. That is not what they do, good luck Paypal is the bomb in my opinion. Always had good luck

 

Yes.. texted him about grill and we agreed on $120 shipped on the 20th. contacted him the 28th and he said he has been busy and will ship out the 29th. last time i have heard from him. I have tried many times sense then to get a hold of him and get nothing. He hasn't responded to paypal either about the dispute.

 

The guy's last activity on TW was Sept. 2014 - assuming he is long gone. As everyone has said, PayPal is your only hope!

 

I believe if he doesn't respond to the paypal dispute you'll get your money back. He should have a set amount of days to respond.

 

All the forums I have ever been on i have never had to deal with a bad seller. most forums and members are usually honest people.

 

PayPal Dispute Resolution Process

When buyers and sellers can’t come to an agreement, PayPal Dispute Resolution can help them arrive at a solution both sides can agree on. Once a buyer initiates the dispute resolution process, PayPal holds the money for that transaction until the dispute is resolved. If the dispute cannot be resolved between the Buyer and Seller, the disputed can be escalated to a Claim and PayPal will determine the outcome of the issue.

Step 1: Dispute notification

PayPal will notify you by email when a buyer opens a dispute. PayPal will place a temporary hold on all funds involved in this transaction until the dispute has been resolved or closed. Once a decision is final, these funds will either be released to you or refunded to the buyer.

Review the dispute and post a reply with an explanation of what happened. Respond quickly, and include suggestions on how to resolve the dispute.

If the buyer claims a purchase was made without their consent, review the claim and provide a response within 7 days
If you haven’t shipped the order, you can simply refund the payment and show PayPal proof of the refund or explain why you haven’t shipped
If you have shipped the order, provide us with a copy of your shipping receipt of online tracking number—make sure the address on the shipping receipt matches the customer’s address listed on the PayPal Transaction Details page
Step 3: Working it out

Once a dispute has been opened, you and your buyer have 20 days to decide on a resolution. In most cases, sellers can work with their customers to find a solution you can both agree on. Once you’ve worked things out, the buyer closes the dispute. When disputes can’t be resolved, either party can escalate the dispute to a claim.

Escalating a Dispute to a Claim
Claims give PayPal the authority to investigate the case and determine the outcome. Buyers have 20 days to file a claim from the time they open a dispute.

If your buyer files a claim against you, PayPal may ask you to provide some of the following information:

A third party shipping receipt, a tracking number, or a signature confirmation to prove that an item was delivered
Proof that you delivered a replacement or issued a refund if the buyer received their order, but there was a problem with it
A signed contract or other proof to show that services were provided
Evidence to show that the buyer downloaded your product if you sold a digital good
The delivery of this information is time sensitive, so don’t wait until the last minute, or you might lose the claim. Learn more about claims

 

I figured that but wanted to post up to warn other people as well not to deal with this guy.

That made it sound like you either didn't know the process or weren't going about it correctly. With paypal it's a time game, they have to give the seller the ability to respond. As soon as he doesn't, you win and you get your money back.

Follow up with PayPal

 

Dude the thread was from June and hadn't been updated since really until you did just now. PayPal dispute is your best chance at getting money back and coming from someone that's not been on the forum since Sept? Good luck. Hell the number you're texting might not even be his anymore.

 

Assuming this is the same MassAppeal16, looks to have a track record or being a less than ideal seller and buyer.

Have to sign up to view, basically took forever to ship a guy a DVD player but it showed up after than blasted him on the site.

Figure out where he lives and send some forum members over for a visit. This has worked on other forums

 

IMO following through with the Paypal dispute process is the best option.

 

if you sent it with the "goods and services" option when paying with paypal and he never sent proof of shipping youll get your $ back.

 

This is why you should never send money as a gift on PayPal. Hope you get your money back dude.
