I wouldn't tow anything at full capacity on my Tacoma unless it was across town maybe. I imagine my 3500 lb Casita trailer with people, bikes and gear would max 5500 lbs. So, any increase in towing is a bonus for me.

I would have done this in a minute given the option. As it is now I have to scrimp and scrape to save the scratch to get the boost.

However, I also would have bought a V8 Tacoma without a second thought. A 4.7 or a 4.6 would have been a sweet ride in a taco.

Why? I love V8s. I love the way they sound. Way better than that raspy 6 cylinder sound.

That 50 extra lb-ft of low end torque would be helpful going up a steep forest road towing my trailer

V8s really can get good gas mileage if they are properly set up (back in the day we had a 3800lb chevelle with a carbuerated 327 getting 26 mpg and still capable a14.5 quarter mile)... and they're really not significantly larger or heavier than a V6.

But since that's a pipe dream I'll have to get my taco boosted....

Driving down to Motown today to look at the taco. Hoping the gauges are less ugly in person!

Thanks for the video. Every different video or article adds a little more information. I suspect some of the haters will be very disappointed when the Tacoma continues to lead the mid-size truck market as I suspect it will.

It's funny what bothers some and not others. I'm perfectly fine with the interior gauges included. Only dislike now after over a week of viewing over and over is the lights, tail lights and grill and lower toothed bumper. Otherwise I've mentally accepted everything else lol.

    The OR tails are nice

    The Limiteds are ugly.

That and the grill and height adjustment on seats are the only downfalls I see.

I love the interior and features, absolutely hate that fucking grill though, looks like a ford transit van and the lower bumper snout thing, wtf? Otherwise looks like a solid truck. And Im gonna be pissed if the sport dosent have a scoop.

I don't care its a fake scoop. I don't know what it is but love the scoops, though I liked the taller one on my 2008. I went scoop less with my 2011 off road but back to the poser scoop on the new truck.

Everytime I drive my truck it reminds of a 60s muscle with a hood scoop. Just a cool factor. Sure it doesn't serve no purpose but who cares, I like it and that's all that matters.

C'mon man. You keep talking about the supercharger, but it's five thousand dollars on top of the base price. I don't care how it's financed, it's still five thousand dollars on top of the base price.

BlueT has been going nuts, but IMO there is no good reason the 4.6L V8 making 310HP/327 torque will not be in the Tacoma lineup. 16/19 mpg in a 1000 lb heavier 2015 Tundra. It has a nice flat torque curve. That's a truck engine. I have a hard time seeing how they cannot fit that into a Tacoma engine bay. The Tacoma engine bay has plenty of room with a 4.0 in it.

Have to get more torque to make it a better tow vehicle. The existing 3.5L has about 278 torque with a nice torque curve, but 330 torque with that same torque curve would be nicer.

I have saw two different pictures of the engine and the top mounted oil filter is not there on the new engine. One of my favorite design features if the 4.0 Tacoma engine.
