So basically rides like shit lol :p

I wanna do about that size eventually. Like a 38x12.50 or the equivalent.

Haha yeah I guess. I'm going to throw some airsoft bb's in the tires eventually just wanted to get it rolling around now. Hydro doesn't return to center and its super touchy

A ton of people have shackles that pull negative at full droop. Itll be interesting to see where it ends up when its forced. Mine are basically at vertical at droop and dont go past vertical even when forced. So I kept em. But youll probably be fine.

Me too lol but I'm not sure. I'll probably pose on the 82 when it's ready. I need to put the short side shaft and birf in but I'm hoping the 82 will sell soon and I'll order 30 spline RCV's.

Looks like a D60 rear? You may want chromo rear shafts for that or bore the spindles out like Mark did for 35 spline shafts. Its basically a wider Toyota rear end but with a bigger ring gear.

It's actually a sterling 10.25. I chose that over the D60 simply because it's bigger ring gear and 35 spline shafts already. Well that and theres so many around here vs D60 or 14bolt.

Pretty much the same I'm looking at except the 10.5 sterling. Only difference is disc brakes and the bastard 8 lug pattern.

If I was to do it again I would build a 16" long shackle and put the mount above my frame instead of under it.

In other news my second time taking the toy out went great. The only thing that needs made better is my front drive line. It binds at full droop, hits one of my upper links like an inch before full stuff, and 20-25 is about max speed in 4wd.

Why not just limit strap it and bump stop the front?

Because it's just a homemade driveshaft he threw together real quick. He plans on having a nicer one built that should fix the problems.

    Yup, that certainly looks familiar.

After several headaches, the swap is done. I may still cut the rear mount and move it forward, but I don't have the motivation to do that just yet. My plan to use my OME shocks until I measured and bought new shocks didn't work out either. The axle is rotated clockwise (looking from the driver side) just enough that the 2.25" shock body hits the damn axle tube. We swapped in my buddies pro comp 6" lift shocks for the time being as they were just a little narrower. He's running my OME's till I get this sorted out.

Time to measure and start talking to downsouth about some Kings for the rear. :D

The sterling 10.25 is an 8 lug... however it's the 8x6.5 pattern whereas the 10.5 sterling is the shitty 8x170mm, however it does have disc like you said.

Nice! Looks fun, I love snow, but there isn't shit around here for real snow :(

The truck is going to get a atlas 4 speed which will make the drive line longer and the angles better. Also going to run a 49 deg. CV joint at the Tcase. so in time ill have the drive line able to deal with full travel with no issues. So this vvv

I have a sterling 10.5 compete with disks and all but ill never use it.

the snow was that wet kind that if you spin on it turns into ice never got deeper than 12" but my girl and I still had a blast saving sidebysides all day long.

So far I have about $1200 including axle price into my 10.25. That's all new wheel bearings, gears, master install kit, ds flange, seals, diff cover, disc brake conversion.. + whatever it costs to set-up the gears... prob $250. So around $1500 total give or take... haven't bought any of it yet, just waiting for deals and shit. Can't wait for the pricey axle to start :(

Which flange are you going to run. Toyota pattern? Didn't know if they made one or not. I had found a link a while back about using 10.5 hubs and redrilling the 8x6.5 pattern while using larger wheel studs. Not sure if you could do it cheaper that way or not.
