Unheated as in there is no dedicated heat source down there or unheated as in vented to the outside like a crawlspace ?

no dedicated heat source. I heat my house with a pellet stove in the first floor living room. No use of the furnace for radiant heat either down there.

No need to insulate the floor other than for sound then except for the exterior wall joist ends and cavities as I mentioned earlier

I had done crown before but it had always been a battle in my head and I always held it at an angle on the fence. I have a really nice Bosch saw and wanted to learn to cut on the flat. DeWalts website has a chart with specific angles for each joint angle. All my cuts came out perfect using the chart for the angles. No coping required. I also darken my cut ends with a permanent black marker.

Personally, I find the easiest way to cut crown is to set your miter at 45 then flip the crown upside down and "bed" it in the fence at an angle the way it will sit against the wall & ceiling. Also, don't nail the last 2-3' closest to the corner. It will allow you to twist the crown pieces and align your miters. I only cope if it's a really short piece where I can't twist it or in a tight area.

For smaller painted crown that works. For staingrade wood there's only one way to do it. And that's coping.

I haven't made use of my TracOne yet, but anticipate the same issue as you have. I do have an OEM Roof Rack, and plan on getting a Inno Universal to top off the OEM. I'll cut down the TracOne to that height, then I'll be able to carry a ladder or long lumber extending way over the cab with no bounce.

Tore old paneling off and insulation out. Furred out my studs and reinsulated with 2x6 insulation. Drywall over. Did some electrical stuff too while I was at it. I'll finish hanging board tomorrow. I'm whooped

How can we point and criticize your framing , electrical and insulation if you already boarded it before taking pics ?

True story , stain grade wide crown is time consuming , especially if you are dealing with wavy ceilings

You don't have to point out the flaws. This whole house is one huge flaw. I'm fixing things as best I can without totally demolishing walls and starting from nothing. Hopefully in the end I'll add a lot of value. Everything needs to be upgraded and remodeled. The outside is done except the diningroom window. That gets replaced while I'm hanging drywall in the diningroom.

I'll make sure you get some stuff to criticize tomorrow. I have more paneling to take down before I hang board
