reply removed. I don't want to take away the main point of this thread. Issue should have been handled in a private message rather than on the post. My apologies for any issues that were brought up

However, I do not agree on the statement in regards to not dealing with with TRS. I consider this exactly the same as with other electronic manufacturers where you contact the supplier directly, not the place where product was purchased (Best Buy, Target, etc.). Retrofitter did not touch the fog lights. They were shipped directly from TRS to my home.

I am no longer going to reply about this issue and should be dropped. Any other remaining responses should be held in a PM fashion.

That's too bad... I thought I saw some pics you'd posted of yours being done. I had to use the "Live Chat" feature of the site today. Worked very well.

Wild. I've only seen ONE other fog light get condensation. Glad we got it taken care of!

The website does state that the Gatling 1.0 shrouds don't fit the Mini D2S 3.0 without trimming, actually, under the Gatling 1.0 shroud page: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/shrouds/gatling-gun-projector-shrouds.html.

Under my user name at left, it does also say that PMs are not a good means of contact. This is still accurate and especially true if you're in the middle of a retrofit. Please email us, use live chat, or call us and we're glad to help out promptly. We talk to hundreds of customers daily, so we're certainly not just ignoring any phone calls. My apologies for the troubles!

I did put them together with the use of zip ties and super glue. Not what I wanted to do but something had to be done

    I didn't do enough homework.

It's no problem at all. I promise we're not schmucks--we want to take care of you! It's just very difficult if people hit us up on all sorts of avenues to try and make sure we answer them all. :)

Besides the minor shroud issue everything was top quality.

Every time I had a component not work out for me from my retros. TRS has been awesome in helping me out and getting me the new parts right away.

I like the products a lot and like the customer service. Can't always satisfy everyone I guess, but they can continue to keep these sweet retros and fogs coming.

hey TRSAndrew I'm about to do my second retrofit soon. Going do to the mini d2s. if i buy the full kit is it possible to get an AMP ignitor instead (ill give that to my sister) and i'll just get a ballasts somewhere since the group buy doesn't allow OEM ballasts?

maybe i can just leave a note on the order about and AMP ignitor? let me know. thanks!

Hey Andrew, to retrofit a 5th gen 4Runner with the d2s minis, is there modification that need to be done? I've looked all over the web and can't find any info on a 5th gen with a D2s mini retro.

Sure, just let us know first please, as inventory needs to be adjusted accordingly. We'll need to set it up for you, basically.

Yes, since the H11 hole is smaller than the required hole for the threaded shaft of the Mini D2S, you must bore it out. It goes from ~1/2" to ~1.25".

Just look at the build thread
About to order my Mini D2S kit for my first gen and I was just wondering if I needed 80mm or 90mm halos for them? I know either is an option when you purchase the shrouds by themselves so I'm a little confused. I'm assuming the bigger ones are if you want to put them behind the shrouds and have them shine through the openings and the smaller ones are if you want to put them on the face of the shroud? I'm planning on going with the Gatling Gun 2.0 shrouds.

to Andrew or anyone that did their own D2S 3.0 retrofit 2012-15

Andrew Im going to order my 2nd retrofit for my 2013 tacoma, I loved by mini h1 6.0 and going to try the new D2S. Did you guys use the second locking nut or did you guys grind the back end? I heard that was the main issue with these, not having enough thread for the two locking nuts

and which shrouds is pretty much just snap on with the new D2S without any trimming etc? I was deciding between ratlin 2.0, apollo 3.0 or g37?

and we have to get moriimoto ballasts correct to get the discount? can't upgrade to the matsushita and pay the difference?

Update: Passenger side is now also dimmer than before. I finally had the opportunity to swap out the ballasts from side to side. Still no dice for either side. Not sure what it could be. They are performing at 75% of their original output. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could it be the harness? Or maybe a break in the wire some where?
