FEELER: Would you put these on your Tacoma?

I'm starting up a line of products to sell for Tacomas and will eventually expand to making parts and accessories for other vehicles. I'll post up some pictures here of my preliminary designs while I prepare them for prototyping and production.

What about us 05+?

 

I won't be making grills for 2005-2011 models, there's already enough people doing those. But these letters would look great on your grills, too!

 

I'm interested for sure! I was thinking about running a strip of orange vinyl outside of the letter like Moose1988 did but if it's illuminated I can't resist! Lemme know when these go up for sale man, I'll replace the Toyota letters with these on my Raptor grill!

Yeah, I'll definitely let you know! When I first thought of this, your truck came to mind right away. These would look sick on your grill!

They're going to be a lot of work to make. I'll be printing them with my 3d printer which will print both the black and clear areas together. This should also allow for me to create the cavities for the LEDs to be placed into. These have to be set back enough at the right spacing to allow the viewing angle of the LEDs to overlap enough so that the border will be uniformly illuminated. Once printed I'll have to manually place and wire all ~120 microscopic LEDs. Then they'll be tested and sealed up with a rear plate.

A lot of thought has gone into designing these things and I'm confident that they will work out as planned. I think I'll begin prototyping these after I get my iPad kits printing correctly and a few other less complicated things ready to start selling, as well.

Man that trd front emblem looks awesome. If it's a perfect swap from the 2012+ 's grille emblem I'll buy one asap.
