Yep, they're all settled into a place and he's back to work. They flew down and re-buying car, furniture, etc there. I think they'll settle and stay there, at least I hope so. He likes his company and wants to stay with them. The options with them are here or there, they don't like the cold here, so I think they'll settle there.

 remembered why my shoulders are bothering me... leaf blower mod  spent 30 - 45 minutes blowing leaves off the shade cloth on the arbor... several bunches of leaves were wet and seemed like glued together - they didn't want to move or come apart  and the wood cross pieces kept trapping leaves :annoyed:. Finally got the majority of them off

Morning everyone! We're supposed to get more ice here today. So much for my clean truck I guess.

I worked in a British Leyland dealership for several years. We were close to the importer's US offices so they came out regularly to make training films, shoot pics for service bulletins, and the like. They'd bring us oddball problems too sometimes. I got a few of them but the shop had two more experienced guys and they got the lion's share.

Jags were the usual suspects; in the 1970's those cars were an odd mix of beautifully handmade bodies and the worst electrical crap ever seen. Mostly Bosch oddly enough. I've never understood the whole 'Lucas prince of darkness thing' anyway; Lucas electrics were dead simple and never ever stranded me on the side of the road. Worst thing that happened was a fuel pump quitting on our MGBGT on the way to a wedding; I got my white shirt dirty reaching under the car to whack the pump with the knockoff hammer!

    Morning all.

Hmmm...that's probably true. But what an awesome display of true nature. I'm sure the raw gore would hinder some folks ability to appreciate it fully.

BTW, nice job with the pup rescue and taking a personal hand with the Goldie. You're a great guy, but we already knew that. ;)

Have a great day my friend. :)

    Morning Dave

Wow, Jag story gave me a flashback. From 12 yrs of age until the time I turned 16, I worked as what I guess you could call a yard boy for a University of Richmond professor, Dr Monk (RIP), who lived in our neighborhood. That's a whole other story, but thru that job, i ended up doing some work on as-needed basis for one of his fellow professors, Dr Key. Dr Key was from a very wealthy family, old money, but one of the nicest men I ever met; and he was a car guy. One of his cars was a 1968 Jaguar XJ (IIRC). Dr Key lived on the other side of town from us, and he would come to pick me up to come work for him. It was always a surprise to see which car he'd come in; the Jag, the Rolls Royce, a replica of a 1928 Mercedes Benz Roadster (body on modern running gear and Engine), or on the "boring days, a late model Cadillac El Dorado. As a teen-age boy he paid me well, but I'd have worked for free just to ride in those cars.

Man, that brought back a flood of memories I hadn't thought about in a very long time.

BTW. MOD Sean posted this in another thread the other day, i grabbed a copy because it made me think of you:

    Morning everyone.

I have so many of those I forget what the hell I made it for.
I made a special Palm Rachet for rear spark plugs out of a reg one for 5 bucks.
I have wierd angled open end wrenches that should be thrown away by anyone's standards
I still have a bunch of modified tools from when I turned wrenches. Don't know if the kids will know what to do with them when I'm gone but not my problem:D..

OH GOD do I miss him.

We all know your heart aches. Says a lot about both of you.

    We miss him too...

Hope your feeling better today Susan:D. Welcome to the over 60 aches and pains kiddo...LOL:laughing:...

I always laughed at when my bosses would talk flat rate repairs on fork lifts. When the factory set them at Yale the truck was in new condition, all of their tools were laid out, and the area was well lit and pristine. One of our clients was Moyer meat packing in Souderton, PA. The slaughter house was bad but the hide rendering plant was a real bitch. They used a salt brine to help cure the hides and everything was corroded to the point of no repair only replace. Even the harnesses would corrode inside the insulation making TS a real challenge. It took 2 weeks to get the smell out of your nose:eek:. I don't miss it at all.

How's the new phone working out Mike?

Hi Mark, the missus and I have been hot air ballooning and love it. we helped set up in Tuscany, but in Turkey they did all the work:D. VVVVV

Take care all and have a good day.

    It's a cheaper phone. Nokia lumina 635.
However, I had to do something. Sounds a lot better. More apps than I know what to do with. Picture quality is a lot better than the old one.

Cannot transfer my videos of the race car to this phone. 3gp to now MP4.
It will load and play but no thumbnails to see what vid is which. Converted a couple but still no luck.

Wanted to use speaker phone in the truck through the aux jack for phone calls but won't switch over. I want to Install blue tooth but I don't. Though this would be a good alternative.
    Pictures transferred no prob.
I finally took my iPod out of the truck and loaded some music into the phone.
Plays only the folder it's in and does not keep going. Minor.
Funny thing. They have skype loaded and it doesn't have a back camera. Duuuuu so that app will be going.
Does what I want, cheap, I'm happy... Lol
Nice pics of the balloon flight.
    TY for sharing

Glad it's all coming together with the phone Mike. When I have "technical" issues, I call the experts. My Grand Kids  :D. It's amazing how they pick these things up. Different times, different world I guess. Stay dry. Raining here now. Had a 60 car & truck pileup here on the surekill (schuykill expy.) expressway this morning because of black ice. Fortunately only minor injuries.

They just showed a major pileup with a guy crushed between two tractor trailers. Car like a Cracker Jack box. Just enough room for his head and shoulders. A few bandaids and he's fine. Like unbelievable.

    Morning all:
60 car pileup on the Schuykill Exp. Another reminder why I try to stay away from there. :D
    Glad there were no fatalities.

Just saw on the news that it's a sheet of ice down there, accidents everywhere, and they closed all the bridges going into Philly.

Glad I live in the boonies, no traffic to worry about. Town has 900+ people and no traffic lights with in 20 miles.
