    Back before you guys went all crash-test, I had asked how hard the install is. Since I let the dealer install the SC, I didn't have the opportunity to go through the belt install process. Seems like it ought to be fairly easy, but after staring at the pulleys last night I'm not sure which one to loosen to take tension off the belt.

    Also check the tension bolts on the idler wheel, use a pry bar and wood block to take tension off the belt

    I don't have the instructions right in front of me but if I remember correctly the tensioner bolt should be right next to the water pump. There should be a slotted bracket this bolt screws into. For the pulley it is recommended you get a HD three teeth pulley puller. Autozone, pep boys, etc... should be able to rent it out for you instead of buying it. for install you could buy that install tool Gadget sells or you can try the heat and freeze method which has been tried before with good results.

    I can't speak for everyone, but my mileage stayed the same. I don't drive it balls to the wall all the time either though. The extra little bit that these engines are short when climbing a long grade or towing something reasonably heavy is where it really helps.

    I do a good mix of highway, gravel, and town driving. I haven't seen much change in mpg with the S/C installed.

    I will say it's critical to heat up that pulley before trying to install it. I've read/heard of some installs that went sideways when people did not heat the pulley for long enough. Other than that it seems like a straight forward install if you have the right tools (pry bar, 3 tooth gear puller, and the pulley install tool.)

    Lol you want it to expand. The pulley is press fit on the nose cone, so you want the pulley to expand, and shoot some cold stuff on the nose cone (where the pulley mounts...I might be calling it wrong) to make it smaller I E contract, then the pulley will slide on a little easier and when both of them reach ambient temp, they will stay together. Otherwise you're trying to force something with a hole in it, almost the exact same size as pole coming off the SC.
